Just wondering what you all thought were the best younger cigars you'd smoked in 2019. What were the best boxes for you?

Let's stick to recent regular production 18 or 19 only.

My best was my first Hoyo Rio Seco, RUM NOV 18. Complex and bursting with flavour.

2nd and third spots had little between them. A box of MSU NOV  18 Partagas P2 produced many a good smoke, as did my box of San Cristobal La Fuerza LGR DIC 18.

What was yours ?

Vegas Robaina Famosos..

I bought a 6pack a while ago and after the first one.. they were calling me to smoke them.

They were a roller coaster ride of chocolate covered raisins where the chocolate aspect would cycle through milk chocolate, dark chocolate, to heavy cacao chocolate, then back again.

Sancho Panza  SMO FEB 18.      When they are made this well, they sing.     All the core SP diftwood,  but with the combination of malty chocolate milkshake.  Glorious

Need to find more at this quality, but thats easier said than done

Sticking strictly with current regular production, I'd say it was a tossup between 2014 RGPCs (they really blossomed this year and became just spectacular) and a 2016 SigVI.

Criteria: Current Regular Production, Recent Year Box Code, Smoked at least a few in 2019.

1. Partagas Maduro No. 1

2. Bolivar Royal Corona

3. Juan Lopez No. 2 / RASS (tie)

JL2 / RASS have never been out of my annual top 3. The most consistent, quality sticks coming off the Island for quite some time now.

Just smoked a wonderful Lusi from UEB NOV 18. Also loving Monte 2 from SMA NOV 18. Both super value for large format regular production. Then RyJ Short Churchills SMA FEB 18 a reliable pleasure. Runner up and small format winner is Party Short UBM FEB 18.

Sorry I don't have the box code.  I thought the 2019 Sir Winstons were terrific.  Perfect construction and wonderful taste.  Just finished a box and hoping to slow down on the next one.

My best regular production cigar is the RYJ Churchill. Such a staple and a great cigar tons of flavor smoke and consistent construction.

CoRo from TOU code has been my best 2019 box.  More rich and complex than any other box of cigars I've purchased this last year.  2019 boxes I'm loving are Edmundos, Wide Churchills, Reyes, QdO all sizes, Rio Seco.

From 1/4 boxes here the La Fuerza and Famosos have me looking at purchasing a box when they show up again.

HdM Petit Robusto, April 2019. And there isn't a close second. Was just an absolute delight. The one that consistently disappointed me was actually a RASS. Smoked about 4 of them, and only 1 gave me a tickle below the belt. The rest were more about having an activity while I sat still for an hour. No tickle.

cohiba Siglo ll, just performed amazing every time.

also my RASCC. Absolute incredible box. The last third of all of them were raisin bread with burnt sugar. Flavor explosion ?
Too tired to get up and look at the box codes? all early 2019

The best regular production cigar I smoked was a late 2018 Upmann No. 2 from our host. However, the best cigar I smoked all year, by far, was an ERDM Tainos ER Taiwan.

UEB May 18 Montecristo No.4. Which one from the box specifically? I'm not actually sure as so many of them were of a superlative standard. Perhaps I've had my fair share of disappointing and ordinary Montecristo No.4s (over the years) and hence why this box stands out...so take my choice with a proverbial 'grain of salt'! ??
