One of the best in one of the best bands.  Too sad.  I'll make sure to put 2112 on the headphones tonight and air drum between puffs of cigar

Aw man. So young. IMO the best drummer on the planet. Got to see Rush at least 5 times.  Didn't know about the brain cancer.  RIP. ?

yea this one is painful...my all-time favorite drummer...technique and style...I always remember a dumb joke we used to use:

How Many Drummers Does it Take to Screw in a Lightbulb?

Answer: FOUR...one to screw it in and three to tell him how Neil Peart would have done it better...

Rest in Peace

He obviously kept the cancer under wraps. Rush definitely put Toronto on the map as far as progressive rock bands go. His style was one of a kind.

Given the tragic loss of his daughter in a car accident at 19, and his first wife less than a year later from cancer, you’d think that this Canadian icon and rock superstar should have just died peacefully in his sleep at 93. The fact that he seemed, by all accounts, to be an extremely humble, thoughtful and true gentle man makes this feel all the more sad. ?

As a young musician Rush was by far my biggest influence

neil’s playing taught me about how melodic a drummer could be while also driving the power behind the trio. he was simply incredible.

Rest in peace Professor

Aww man...sad news. He was one of the greats. May just have to watch their documentary again, it really focuses on Neil’s talents and heartbreaking life challenges.

RIP Neil Peart.

RIP Mr. Peart.  The  greatest drummer ever and from what all could see a great person.

Started seeing Rush when they were an opening act... Sad to see talent lost.

RIP NP. The music industry is lesser today without you!

I was only a casual Rush fan until very recently - when I discovered “Classic Prog Radio” on Pandora.  They play a lot of Rush, especially their lesser-known works, and I found myself hitting the Like button on them constantly. Such a creative and distinctive sound.  He was an incredibly brilliant drummer and lyricist, and a profound influence on his peers.

RIP Neil Peart.

What an amazing musician. Obviously known as a killer drummer, but many may not know that he wrote a lot of Rush's lyrics as well. RIP ❤

True Rush fans know it. When he started contributing to the song writing process Rush really took off....  Good stuff!!

Not really a rush fan but as a percussionist, Neil is one of the greatest drummers of all time. It's so sad to lose a star at such a young age. May he RIP.

I know this is old news now but, man what a drummer... what a band... what a legend, RIP. I always wanted to see Rush in concert but now I will never get to, just like I will never get to see Tom Petty...
