Actually, @ElJavi76 asked the worker at the La Corona factory why he was stamping the boxes twice.

His answer was, “Because some genius told me to.”

?

Facts!

It could be that some of these boxes are going to markets that put stickers on the boxes. Maybe those regions can add stickers over one of the stampings and not the other. Stamper didn't have a good answer for us.

92-95 pts. Really--that high? Ok, I'm in. Let's drink this cool-aid. Though I have been partial to the fundadores...

92 now for sure but potential is best guess. I always assume a couple points after a year or two is possible when a cigar is this good this young but might take many more years. And I have no idea what the price is on these--mine was a gift. I'm sure La Trova and Fundys are just as good. To me these represent a nice alternative to the Vigia which not everyone (including me) likes as long as the price isn't too far off.

92 now for sure

Beginning to think I got some duds...  I broke out another Topes a few days ago and while it didn’t present the lemongrass core and dryness , it was a far cry from a “holy s*** that was good”.  Straight dough/bread at a tick over neutral on the sweetness without a lot more in terms of flavor for the first half.  The back half did pick up a little with some coffee and earth. Now with what you’re saying @NSXCIGAR, I am tempted to burn through what I’ve got to see if there’s a 92 lurking. :cigar:

I can't say that's what a 92 is for me but it was definitely a good solid Trinidad. Actually reminded me of fresh Robusto Ts back in the day. No hint of whatever it is I got in the Luna. All coffee/doughnut Trini.

In comparison to La Trova? Since similar sizes, which would you recommend??

I haven't smoked the new Trova so all I can say is we were blown away by the Esmerelda.

Oh, no doubt.  I didn't suspect it was.  This was more of a hyperbolic way for me to say that this example still wasn't approaching the mid 90s, or even the low 90s.  I would be quite happy with something in the low 90s.  That would be a very good cigar indeed.  Glad you were able to get your hands on one.

Cheers

I would say 92 is about what I call very good. I'm happy there. The Topes EL came in around 94.

I have also not tried a La Trova. Oddly enough the LCDH hasn't had any. I'll probably get to an Esmeralda first.
