Well my friend, I don't know if it was the best cigar ever either, but I surely enjoyed meeting up with you and other members in LA awhile back. I want to say that was the first time we met and it was a nice time with a great host and great friends.

Chin up my friend. Till next we meet!!!

Cheers! -Ray

Tough question.

Usually for me they go hand in hand with some memories for me.

I had an Opus X Belicoso XXX with a few years of age on it that was smoking beautifully during a Caribbean cruise sitting on the deck while there was a thunderstorm in the distance. Pretty awesome moment I’ll never forget.

2007 RASS I got a few in a trade with a member here.  Smoked in 2017. The first one I tried blew my mind. Never experienced such sweetness it was incredible.  Havent been able to find it again.

This is an easy question for me. Mine was my first authentic Cuban cigar - a Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure no.2. It wasn’t some aged example at least I don’t think it was. It was a single I had ordered in addition to some boxes of the same cigar. This single was the most flavorful, complex - hell, everything was right about it. Flavors were very strongly molasses, maple syrup, caramel, graham cracker....the list went on and they weren’t just hints of these flavors but almost as if I were actually eating whatever it was that I was tasting. I haven’t had one like it since and I don’t think I probably will because I chalk some of it up to that experience of new sensations - a new high if you will, is always going to be unforgettable the first time and your forever chasing that one experience.
The two boxes of Epicure no.2’s that I had ordered with the single, were horrible and still are to this day - just bad tobacco. Nevertheless, I never bought from that dealer again because my inexperienced self thought they were fake and he had mistakenly sent me a real single. Oh how wrong I was but the whole experience set me on a path not unlike that of Cortez, Hidalgo, or any other explorer looking for the fountain of youth/city of gold or some other unattainable thing.
Consider it fortunate or unfortunate, however you look at it, I am very happy in the “chase” and while I haven’t yet replicated that cigar, some have come close and the experience and passion Ive developed for this field gives me second to none in the satisfaction department and I’m glad to have met all you here as well. So my best cigar I’ve ever smoked have many good things attributed to it. Thanks for asking the question.

Easy. A Hoyo de Mena “Don Salvador”, smoked in the very field where the tobacco had been grown several years earlier, standing between the man who grew the tobacco (and that it was named after) , and the man who had rolled it. Magical experience.

My first D4. I’d had a real siglo VI before which is objectively a superior cigar, but the first D4 from a box I grabbed in cuba had a certain expectation on it since I was actively trying to get into knowing what I was smoking.

2008 Cohiba Siglo VI by far the best and most enjoyable cigar I have ever smoked :)

In subsequent efforts it's far from a top 20 smoke of mine, but I recall on one particular business trip I smoked a Padron 4000. Basically a cheapy Padron. Outdoors, in Florida, next to a lake, lit with a Bic lighter, fighting a full bladder. No idea why, but that damn thing checked every box.

This past summer, Miss Juanita at the Melia Cohiba was rolling something like a Laguito especial. 39/192? I foolishly only bought 2 of them, and didn’t realize my mistake until it was too late. I want to say that I gave her $5 each...

Imagine a Cohiba Lancero, a Trini Fundadores and a Partagas Lusi all blended together. It was better than that...

Smoked a lot of very good cigars, but the best for me is the Romeo vitola from the RyJ 125th Humidor. Unbelievable cigars. Right behind that is a Sir Winnie from 1978.

my first Esplendito

before that I had just been smoking "ok" Cubans.

this was my first exceptional cuban.

I've had other exceptional cuban's since, but none will bring the fond memories like the "first time". :)

2017 HdM Epi 2. It wasn't so special then, but it was the first and last cigar I smoked with my father. A month later my father passed away.

My best ever was a Behike 52 I had during my first trip to Cuba in 2014. It was a perfect 100 point cigar, but what really made the moment special was enjoying it while relaxing on the Malecon with the wife on a Havana summer night.

For me it was a 1970 Davidoff No 1. The first half was smooth, floral, full of baking spice like flavours. As it progressed past the halfway point, it became more full bodied. Earth, cinnamon, cedar, coffee bean and more. A real journey.  My only 100 point cigar.

Montecristo No 2 from Jun 2012 smoked on June 8, 2017, my 5 year anniversary with my wife and a fantastic bottle of Barolo! First time I truly didn't want to put down a cigar. Smooth delicious flavors straight through to the lip burning end.
