How many samples of each special release do you need to smoke to justify thinking that  a particular stick was nailed?  Do you have to smoke a whole 10 count box to be convicted of such a statement?  Multiple boxes?  Just one stick or two sticks?

One would do it for me. Just one.

Smoked through at least a box of both I mentioned. Still glad to have at least a box or so of each at hand...

The Por Larrañaga Encantos RE and the Ramon Allones Superiores are two that after the release and now I feel are stellar cigars.

I think, when speaking of 'HSA releases', then one has to leave out REs here, as these are mostly not genuine HSA's "ideas", and at least half the credit has to be given to distributors.

From my viewpoint, as the smoker, within the the last decade, it is the Connie A, for its proven quality, blend, consistency and pricing - as good the La Trova is. Were the price a bit more attractive the Noellas would compete for the top for me. Great cigar, where they truly nailed the blend for the long haul, in a fine, unassuming format. But in general, the whole HS/LCDH-program(/s) has been a success in my book. That is, from a smoker's perspective: interesting vitolas, great additions to the regular lines and mostly good value (if we ignore the excellent Torreon for a moment), honest offerings.

From a Habanos perspective, that is, the marketing side, it has to be the relaunch of Quai d'Orsay. Kudos to them! As much as I am detesting it personally, this seems to be a winner in terms of turnover. One should keep in mind, however, that with the relaunch also came a change in its distribution, from an originally highly restricted local (later, not so much restricted...) to eventually a global market. Originally, the brand had never been intended for a large market share or a large volume production. So, sales had always been low by the nature of things.

Likewise, and perhaps coming a close second, testing the waters with the Vigía seems having attracted a lot of new Trini-buyers to whom a Fundi or Reyes never really meant much. So, that truly has widened the market for Trini, while - and I am thankful for that (HSA, can you hear me?!) - so far, they didn't axe any of the slender formats. With the other new format additions to the line and its move from a multi-local to a "value" brand - and you may forgive me a scathing remark - Trini is now prepared for a "bright future" with their 'cut' tobacco steamers.... yep, nailed it!

The success and 'in-demand' of this cigar worries me.... HSA might just discontinue and re-release cigars at a higher price more frequently....

Gotta go with the La Trova as well. Phenomenal cigar.

Great to hear because I've got some inbound?

La Escepcion Selectos Finos. Perfect in almost every way. The blend, vitola, visual and tactile qualities to the cigar and smoking experience. Great packaging as well.

This is one cigar that I really wish I'd managed to get hold of even just one or two! Every review I've ever read or watched has been almost mouth watering, I think sometimes you know when something is right in the sweet spot of your wheelhouse, so to speak :hungry:

I wish the Vigia met this standard....when they are good they are amongst the best I've ever smoked. Better than all other Trinidads for me.

For me it’s definitly the smaller smokes. Upman half corona, monte media corona, Partagas D6 (if I can afford them) and Cohiba Medio siglo (cant afford them). It’s probably the stage in my life I am at right now but these cigars fit everything for me. Ring guage is perfect. Burn time is perfect at close to an hour. And flavours are spot on to me.
