We are coming up to the final straight as far as the year goes.  :cigar:

From what you have smoked/tried, what would put up as your contenders for the cigar of the year. Note the only qualification will be that the cigar will be from  2018 -2019 *

Give it some thought. Put up no more than three contenders from what has really impressed you.

Consider this the preliminary round to the 2019 cigar of the Year

*For those who are about to post that they only smoke cigars 5 years or older.....no need....we are really happy for you :D

I don't understand why factory codes? are we voting for the best cigar or the best factory?

The ESL Mag 50 run has been my hands down cigar of the year. Probably my cigar of the past 3 years even. And for the ones I got before the price hike are probably my value buy of the year too.

But I love Upmann and fruity Upmann is my favorite Upmann.

Thank God for saving all of my reviews on an app that I can sort by box code!

Ive reviewed two cigars from 18 and beyond, a Montecristo Especial No 2 and a Cohiba Corona Especial. Oddly they’re the same vitola. I’ve also smoked a Romeo Y Julieta Tacos that I received from the FOHnies but didn’t score it. I wish I had because I believe that would’ve been my top contender. Absolute DYNAMITE cigar. Thankful to have a box resting. Of the other two, I scored the Monte a 89 and the Cohiba a 93. Without my review template in front of me I’d guess the RYJ was around a 95, the construction and burn were perfect and the flavors a true delight.

For me, the three best cigars that I've had - that were rolled in 2018 or 2019 - are:

1. Trinidad La Trova MUP OCT 18 - I've smoked half a box of these, and every one has been unbelievably rich and refined. More so than any cigar this young has any right to be.

2. La Gloria Cubana Orgullosos RE Suiza MSU OCT 18 - after a quarter of a box, I'm satisfied that these are exemplars of LGC DNA, and convinced that they will age beautifully.

3. Partagas Serie E No. 2 MSU MAR 18 - all three fivers I've smoked have been consistently fantastic, no aging required.

The three that have consistently scored highest for me in 18/19 are:

SC La Fuerza

Monte DE

Party Lusi

Special mention goes to the Connie A as it's always up there.

They’re all monsters for me, but what can I say? They've all tasted outstanding fresh:

La Trova

Parti E2

Boli Libertadores

I even managed to score a 2016 box of Libertadores recently, but don’t find them to be bursting with flavor like the 2018’s.

La Trova RAG FEB 18

LGC Swiss regional MSU SEP 18

BRC MSU FEB 18

(Didn’t want to put all double banders as I tend to lean towards avoiding them and prefer the value in regular production, but the Dip Ammunition LGR OCT 18 have been phenomenal)
