SmokyFontaine
I'd live in the San Diego area, and for vacation, Valencia, Spain still stands out as one of the most lovely places I've been.

Philc2001
Good question. Tough call. I think I'd probably give Monaco a try. It is within driving range of the French and Italian Rivieras, easy access to all of Europe, Switzerland and Africa. It's a short hop to a sunny respite in Costa Del Sol, Spain, and it is home to one of my favorite Grand Prix venues.

Nothing mysterious about the Monterey Peninsula, it’s just a nice place. Hell, if it gets boring you can always roll on over to Salinas to be on Live PD. Islandboy
1. Maui. My home by default and birthright. 2. Hood River Oregon. A laid back place with micro-breweries and wilderness, and close enough to the city charm of Portlandia.
