Popular Post Ritch Posted October 5, 2019 Popular Post Posted October 5, 2019 I would imagine a fair few of us hear own or run our own business or have the wonderful privilege and responsibility of running someone else's business. El Pres has at various times posted about some of his more awkward customers so in the spirit of sharing... I have had a customer run up a small bill for many months. I have tried letters and calls, been very polite. But no joy. I eventually after 3 months of not having any payment off him nor being able to contact him put a third party debt collection agency on the case. The invoices were queried. I provided documentation. He promised payment. Missed it. Again promised payment yesterday by email and then proceeded to have a good old rant and also emailed our complaints division to complain about me, saying that I was rude, had already been paid cash for the invoices and that he would never be using us again (too bloody right, none payers dont get the privilege of using us again). Unfortunately for said chap I am also the person who over sees the inbox for the complains email. He was not amused by this and had yet another rant. And further started complaining that he had not had his stihl saw back that he had dropped in for repair 6 months ago (he was informed 6 months ago that the saw needed a new pot and piston but he didnt wish to pay for that, the saw has been at the depot closest to him since for him to collect) and that it only needed a service (people seem to think that changing an air filter, spark plug and fuel will fix anything... unfortunately that wont fix a lack of engine compression). He was informed he could collect the saw and that it was partially stripped, he was not happy with that and insisted that the saw was put back together but was unwilling to pay the hours labour to do this and also unwilling to pay the 20gbp inspection fee to determine what qlwas wrong with the saw. Anyhow, he eventually with quite a sour attitude came to pay us yesterday. Dressed very smart in a designer track suit and arrived in his 15 year old Range Rover Sport with private plate. Payment was made, receipt was given, filming the entire time on his phone, he went to leave slowly and held open the door to allow a young kid with a bucket of shite to step in and launch said contents over the counter towards myself. Thankfully a quick duck and cover allowed me to miss the worst of it. The young kid dropped the bucket and ran off quickly and then the disgruntled customer proceeded to leave very slowly blocking the door to hinder any attempt to chasing the young scrote. I helped the customer on his way with a boot up the backside. The police were promptly called by both of us. Hour and a half later, my show room and paperwork covered in shite the police arrived to view CCTV. They refused to arrest the customer as he had not thrown the shite, despite clearly organising it and as the CCTV showed constantly looking out the window and stalling his exit to allow his accomplice the time to do his job. End result I had to apologise to the customer for kicking him up the arse or end up being arrested myself. And the worst bit? The worst bit? Do animals eat peas or sweetcorn? I dont bloody think so. Yup. Human shit. So, what has been your shittest day at work... 2 4 1
Buck14 Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 I’d be in prison if this happened to me. There are way too many terrible people out there. 2
Wookie Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Microcosm of what our society is these days. Should be some form of allowable summary justice. 1

cigcars Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 *All I can say about your unfortunate situation, Ritch, is that I'm SOOOOO glad that you at least got to give him a parting shot up the backside with your boot/foot/whatever. Too many times people who resort to that kind of thing are so used to people being too shocked to move, retaliate, or do anything...and you know, taking patience/kindness for weakness. I'm retired from the MARTA (Metro Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority) transportation lines and I'm sure you'd be aware of some doozies of some customer service "situations" there. One of our bus drivers had this regular passenger every day who insulted him, gave him problems, etc. Then one day on his way off the bus...this passenger SPAT on the driver! That driver pulled out a knife and CHASED him until he caught up with him and cut him. Of course we law enforcement got called and the driver faced charges...but I'm sure I don't have to tell you HOW much we privately sided with the bus driver...some people can deal with shit better than they can with being spit on! I wasn't one of the officers handling the case, but to my knowledge...I don't think that passenger gave this bus driver any more "sass" after that!! 1
GinFizzLove Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 It’s like a scene from a Guy Ritchie movie?

I'm glad you put this forward before me Ray, I was going to be less subtle and more descriptive but thought better of it...Sent from 47171 Lempo 1
