Hi All,

what are the flavor differences between the petite robusto, epi 1 and 2?

i have been smoking the petite robusto, and I really like the mellow smoke, but i would like a longer lasting smoke.

I prefer a smaller ring gauge and  I was considering the epi 1, but I don’t want a drastic change in flavor/ experience

your thoughts please ?

I haven't had a No 1 but I have found the Petite to be fuller than the No 2 - given the size they have to hit the ground running and usually do! The Petite has a bit more sharpness to it, the No 2 is definitely the milder of the two. Apart from the change in body the flavours to me are about the same - creamy and woody.

Agree... PR is fuller and a bit more present in the mouth. not had a 1 for long enough to adequately compare, but I find epi2's light and easy going. PR's are very similar but have a bit more interest.

Epi 1 is a lighter blend than the PR and is also less woody and for sure no "sugarcane." I've been smoking Epi 1s for 20 years and I wouldn't call it a substitute to the PR by any means, but I enjoy both cigars very much. Conversely, Epi 2 is not my cup at all. Everyone agrees the format of the PR sucks but we suck to the blend in spite! Mind it that good boxes of Epi 1 have become hard if not impossible to find lately, you may want to check the recent What's Not lists.
