Doctortrent Posted September 28, 2019 Posted September 28, 2019 Anyone having issues with these ? I have calibrated mine multiple times and it seems that the humidity and and temperature are reversed. It’s good for awhile then it all the sudden it goes haywire.. Brand new butler and battery My last butler had the same issues I have a caliber iv hygrometer in with it and it’s dead nuts..
Sluffo Posted September 28, 2019 Posted September 28, 2019 I have four of them and all have developed some type of issue. They all lose BT connection and two of them eat batteries like crazy. I've given up and switched to SensorPush. 1
boopdeep Posted September 28, 2019 Posted September 28, 2019 I’ve also had a bad experience with the Boveda Butler. Bought 4, but only 3 worked. Those 3 give very inconsistent readings even compared to each other. Will be switching to the Sensor Push. 1
mtd057 Posted September 28, 2019 Posted September 28, 2019 I tried them and couldn't get them to work properly. Switched to Sensor Push and haven't had any issues. 1
CgarDan Posted September 28, 2019 Posted September 28, 2019 Heard many complaints so stayed away from getting one 1
inter4alia Posted September 28, 2019 Posted September 28, 2019 I tried them and will not use them anymore. Inconsistent readings is my biggest complaint. I like the app and the idea but just poor performance in my experience. I'm thinking about trying sensor push.
Gamehawker Posted September 28, 2019 Posted September 28, 2019 I bought 5 and had problems with them (reading too high). I bought 3 more and did the initial calibration of the 3 new ones and recalibrated the first 5. All 8 seem to be working perfectly for me now for the past two months.
BeerPimp Posted September 28, 2019 Posted September 28, 2019 I have had the wireless sensor tag webpage open on my browser for several months. I think I am finally going to pull the trigger.
Shelby07 Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 Bought 3. Tried to perform a 2 stage calibration on them. All 3 failed on 2nd stage calibration phase. their customer support was useless. I use them, but not to get an accurate reading. They’re useful to see when I need to recharge the cigar oasis units. Other than that, all 3 are fairly useless. a few days ago there was a new release of the app for iPhone and iPad. I don’t know if they fixed bugs or it was an upgrade for the new iOS 13 release. Since then it has a hard time starting up and often times crashes or hangs before any readings are displayed. 1
irratebass Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 I have 4, they suck......don't use em anymore. Waste of cash imo.
medzikone Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 Same here. When I did calibration everything worked fine but since I compared reading with xikar hygros, boveda shows 2-3% more. Fortunately, I got only one, bought for $10 with coupon code.
Cold Smoke Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 I have 2. I 2-step calibrated them and they have worked flawlessly so far. In fact, I was happy enough with them to order another three.
cbaty08 Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 I have 4 and they seem to work fine. I leave an old iPhone near the winedor that stays connected 24/7.
BDSpiritual1 Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 I have 3 and I've found that when using the auto calibration feature with the 75% pack, it ends up resulting in poor readings if you prefer a lower environment (i.e. 65%) after a while. However, when manually calibrating to the temperature you want to maintain (i.e. calibrating against 65% for 24/48 hours), I found them to be very accurate and maintain that humidity very well. 1

Interesting. I didn't know there was a manual calibration option. I only used the auto at 75%. I will have to try this.

Yeah, just put the Boveda in a Ziploc with the package you want to use for 24 and then manually adjust it to that percentage and continue to monitor it for another 24 hours to see if it remains consistent. If not, just adjust as needed and monitor again. Like one of mine is manually calibrated to -6.4% to maintain 65%. Just click customize and update it there. When you go back you'll see what it's currently reading at. I usually try to get it to a few points closer to when it would go over to the next percentage. For example -6.4 will keep me at 65% but -6.0 will put me at 66%. 1
BellevilleMXZ Posted September 30, 2019 Posted September 30, 2019 I got rid of mine....I find sensorpush much better
