Cigars and tobacco are a tough business in Canada.  And with the idiotic plain packaging rules that are coming into effect; the death march begins.  The Toronto LCDH will shutter its' doors forever De

I know that this might not seem like much consolation, but there is the black market. Support our local black-marketeer, pirate!!! All hail the King!.   On a more somber note... I will

You are suggesting he smoke on his private property ? Is that Legal in Canada ?

A shame. Killing of a culture. By ignorants who simply haven't got a proper understanding.

I always wonder how us lambs could let it happen. First B&M... online to follow...

Anyone up for a meet there before the weather turns cold?

Sure. I usually go once/week to hang out after work or during lunch hour.

What a darn shame. If the American voters elect a socialist next year, expect the same doom for cigar lounges here in the USA. Wake up folks!!!

Really is a shame. Visited the LCDH in Montreal and it was a great experience. To the comments on the weed, seriously the lines outside of the gov run weed store were unreal literally blocks long.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t matter which party holds the presidency... we are headed down the same path.

Really a shame to hear. Some of my first Habanos were purchased from that shop.

Was there the final night before the ban so one of the last to legally smoke inside. Followed by dinner at the Turf Lounge (I think). As it was the last night one could smoke there, they were selling off the humidor stock at half off, so almost reasonable ;)

Nanny state is real....

It's official--it's now easier to obtain and consume a product in a country where it is illegal than where it's legal.

Not to mention much cheaper!

This is true.

Although the “nanny state” / high government intervention into citizens’ lives is a main tenet of lefttists / democrats / socialists at least in the US, Tobacco / Cigars is one of the few areas that all politicians like to shit on.

Don't forget steak, coffee, booze, gas/charcoal grills! They certainly won't call it quits with cigars. Remember, they think they know what is better for us than we do. That is their methodology of mindset.

just booked a "business lunch" there next Wednesday.

client and I are both cigar smokers...neither have been there before - which is a shame on our part.

wish I was visiting under different circumstances, but looking forward to it none the less.

bundwallah, not sure if you are going to see this, but my business lunch was bumped from next Wednesday to tomorrow. Awesome!

Is there parking near by? Any suggestions?

Easiest would be the parking garage accessible from both Cumberland and Yorkville Ave which will be a short walk to LCDH. If you are “expensing” the lunch go there because it isn’t cheap to park there from what I remember. Otherwise you may be able to find street parking a little out of the way depending on how busy it is at lunch time.

definitely will be expensing lunch and parking...but can't expense cigar purchases....

appreciate the help!

When do plain packaging laws go into effect?

For cigarettes, November 2019. I think cigars have until Feb 2020 IIRC.

Francisco from the shop told me clubs and minis are November 2019 as well.
