Does anyone have any SC El Torreon jars or have a line on where to get one? Not looking for the cigars, just the jar.

Thanks!

Funny, I'm looking for the cigars without the jar. I'd actually buy them without the stupid forced premium of the jar.

Why they don't offer these in 10s is just baffling.

Its really crazy how expensive they are, especially compared to Noellas. I don't get it either.

Sounds like y’all have a pairing. Just need to find a mule to bring it on to ya. Personally, I only bring back against my 100 allotment those items with sentiment or will cost me twice the price or more off island.

It is unreasonable. 500 CUC on the island for one. I opted for two Noellas for half the price of one Torreón. The Noellas dried up quickly.

We had it before, worth and value are always debatable. But the Torreon is (was) an 'unreasonably' good cigar (the few I smoked). I am not defending the high price at all, but folks shell out similar money for a Sig 6 without debating, and I'd put the Torreon right up in the same category of Sig 6 or Espy (or perhaps even the SCdLH collection book(?), which I hadn't had the pleasure to smoke) without hesitation. I just don't think the premium is due to the (ugly) jar...

Don’t get me wrong, I cannot speak to this part. I have not tried the Torreón. Only speaking on the sticker shock.

With you 100%. Esplendidos go for $800+ all day long and they aren’t half as good.

Ditto,

The San Cris Torreon is a fantastic cigar.

That's what I've always heard--the Torreon is a great cigar and always has been. But wow, that price. $30 each is a serious outlay. Obviously a large portion of that is the jar but seeing as how they're still 20 CUC each It's clear they're charging a premium for these sticks. Espy and Siglo VI have the cache to charge that price--not a San Cristobal despite how good we know the marca is. Prices for Gran Reservas are less than 500 CUC for goodness sake. I'll even bet the price for the Cohiba Novedosos 25s will be less than 500 CUC.

I just think the idea is totally misplaced for this cigar. It is the only model of its kind--a kind of super premium within a minor brand only offered in expensive packaging in 25s. It could all be solved with a 10 box priced similarly to, say, Libertador or Partagas Salomones at ~$20 each. a 25 jar at $700-800 is just such a commitment and SC is such low-selling brand with no cache for most worldwide smokers. It is certainly an oddity in the CC world. 10s would certainly sell and would get them into peoples hands who might then decide to spring for a jar. I guess they have no desire to actually sell these...

Based on the Spanish price, I'd say unfortunately it will most likely be quite higher then that... probably more close do double that.

Not necessarily. Cohiba ELs are typically half the worldwide price in CUC. There's really no correlation between CUC and worldwide price across all products.
