As an unseasoned relatively long time cigar smoker, I'm kind of the opposite. One of the things I like best about sitting down outside to smoke a cigar is quietly sitting down outside to smoke a cigar

Yard work E3B38C5D-446E-4CF8-A98B-6C02BE6561C1.MOV

I am ritualistic...every Friday evening I sit out back with 2 cigars and spend 3 hours with my "pure metal" mix of my favorite 1300 or so songs...ill put down 6 beers and 1 glass of scotch while I do

Well let’s see. New to CC world but I do spend 2-3 days a month going to my cigar club that calls itself a shotgun club and shoot skeet and five stand. Periodically sporting clays. I do find that a cigar relaxes me quite a bit and improves my scores. Hope the finer CC I have now will improve my scores further.

The rest of the time I sit w a buddy and shoot the crap. Since it’s summer here, sometimes I’ll stand in my pool.

Periodically there are the conference calls   Rarely yard work.

I've never shot better after smoking a cigar.

I enjoy the sounds of nature while smoking. No phones, no music, just the sweet sounds of Mother Nature is all I require. It’s a big part of why I took up cigar smoking in the first place.

Most times I will be with a scotch and do some reading

Some times I will be with friends

On rare occasions I make life changing decisions after quiet contemplation while staring into the skies

i either watch a football game or i sit on my porch and enjoy the sun while i read a book. i like pairing different desserts and drinks with the cigars sometimes too.

I prefer to break bread and light Cigars with friends but usually it’s a private affair and I have really began to enjoy the quiet times. Early morning back patio with birds, squirrels, Hawks. Lizards. Cats on the hunt all moving through. Watching the murder of crows return from the nights roost. The brief moments with sounds of nothing. It’s a meditation and a therapy I wouldn’t find or afford elsewhere. All for the cost of a good CC and an espresso pour over. Priceless.

If I am not with friends talking I will typically read a book, catch up on this forum or business news, watch YouTube videos I subscribe to or sports on tv. Then there are the times I just need to sit back and enjoy nature, the sound of the pond and the fish swimming around when I’m on my deck.

I have often in the past had the same frustration, especially with longer smokes. However, whenever I have gone to try and do anything whilst smoking I just find that they get in the way of each other, robbing enjoyment from both. So now unless it is something simple that doesn't require my hands or any concerted effort or concentration, like watching some form of media or reading or listening to music, then I just enjoy losing myself in the here and now, the sights, sounds and smells around me, and the relaxation of smoking and doing very little else. My favourite smokes are those enjoyed with friends over conversation and drinks before and after a great meal. I also enjoy a smoke on a long drive listening to the radio or music, I guess the one thing which requires my hands and concentration that I don't mind whilst smoking.

Good thread!  :2thumbs:

Really only smoke in the evenings during Happy Hour(s) or sporting event.   Enjoy adult beverages while smoking with the wife.  The seasonal window here for smoking outside is quite short.  As the bugs show up quickly on one end and the wind and cold show up on the other.  :tantrum:    Usually watch a little news and then go to listening to music.  Or watching football, boxing, golf, etc.

I have no problem sitting and relaxing. I’ll generally have a heavy beer and check out FOH. Sit and watch the boats go by and talk to Dana as she sips on red wine.

Solitude is fantastic! No modern music comes close to the old stuff. ?

I've found watching a box set on my phone or tablet passes the time very well and I can still appreciate the flavours and have a drink.
Currently re-watching the Sopranos.

You’d have to try very hard to find a better box set to rewatch! This is relaxation in a nut shell for me. Unless I’m with friends, which is always the preference. Cigars taste best with company

I'm getting to be an old stick-in-the-mud and assume there's still good stuff coming out, but I just don't hear about it.

Then again, people I know and trust said "Oh my God: Greta van Fleet!" and I found that to be recycled trash at best (I'm a big Zep fan and found these young upstarts to have half the talent of a good Zeppelin cover band).  Maybe everything as far as rock n roll has been done?

I have a real hard time doing nothing, always on the move or something to do.

I enjoy smoking with friends, catching up while having a drink. Most days however, I just set up on the deck or in the office, light a cigar and catch up on some work. If no work is pressing, then I might watch some YouTube channels or maybe read a book. If I have really nothing else to do, then I might start fleshing out a new project for the house, yard or business while I smoke.

Shoot WHILE smoking. Actually I end up shooting more based on reaction than over thinking it when I have a cigar in my mouth.

This is the hardest thing to explain to new shooters haha.  I’m the same way, I start to think about my shots and I start missing.

I find the better the cigar, the more I enjoy the solitude of just enjoying the ritual of smoking a cigar.  If the cigar is just average, I find myself thinking about what I’m going to do when it ends rather than wishing it wouldn’t end.

I give 100% to everything I do and this includes 100% focus on just enjoying the smoking experience and letting the mind be at peace.

And I’ll watch Rob give Ken a hard time on FOHtv or Ken enjoying getting under Rob’s skin.  FOHtv is pure entertainment.

When I'm alone smoking, I have to be preoccupied with something else or I'll suck it down so fast to be done with it so I can do something more productive. If I'm with friends I can sit and smoke and chat and drink until my mouth hurts from the smoke, 3 cigars in.
