Your ultimate NC/CC blend?

If you could blend two cigar profiles......One NC and One CC.....which cigars would they be.

Now think carefully

We may have access to a roller shortly in OZ and may be able to do this for FOHrensics.  We just might have to get some of the right NC's in.

You need to make the blend work together. That means not the two best cigars but rather two blends that would work together to make a superb cigar.

Have a crack at virtual blending :D

When you decide upon your cigars, maybe describe the characteristics that you are trying to achieve.

As blenders, you need to put your thinking hats on. Try to combine cigars of similar size. :D

I’d love to taste a mashup of the original Liga Privada #9 robusto which is spicy with coffee and chocolate, and an Epi #2 that’s all cream and toast!

I’d go with:

Tatuaje Miami + SCdLH Principe

Drew Estates Liga Privada + Upmann HC

Fuente Don Carlos + JLS #2

BBF & Diamond Crown Maximus No. 3.

BBF should be younger and have the mongrel portion still there to balance the ultra rich smooth DCM3.

The wood and earthiness of both would blend well. The mongrel of the BBF should cancel the richness of the DCM3. Both to me are very smooth and creamy and it should burn well and marry accordingly.

Also the sweetness and velvet richness of the DCM3 I.e. cherry, honey & vanilla will pair great with the liquorice , pepper spice, leather and chocolate.

i would  buy em !

Cheers

Any Ashton VSG with a VR Famosos.  I love the leathery/cedar spice of the VSG, and I think it would go really well with the dark chocolate and dried fruit in the VR.  Sweet/spicy is a great combo.  Plus, they both have a rich earthiness that I think would play well off the other.

I'd have to say a NC AJF Ramon allones which has a cherry, bitter chocolate, cedar and pepper.

And for my CC I'd say a CoLa sweet grass hay and some vanilla bean, milk coffee.

As for non cuban cigars to bring in.  I would highly suggest either or both of 2 manufacturers.

My Father Cigars (or a brand they also produce - Tatuaje)

Casa Fernandez (or the brands they also produce - Warped, Illusione)

Both manufacturers bunch their cigars in the traditional Cuban method of entubado and grow the majority of their tobacco from traditional cuban seeds.

The Casa Fernandez "flavor" is more easier to decipher among the MANY brands they make.  Whereas My Father/Tatuaje have more variation to their MANY brands.

Therefore I would suggest any Casa Fernandez made cigar with a natural wrapper (not Maduro or Connecticut Shade) be paired with an H. Upmann cuban cigar.  (Shortbread, doughy, toasty I have found in Casa Fernandez.)

Naming all the specific cigars would take up too much space so if you're interested let me know and I can provide specific recommendations.

Can I just choose to have all tobacco used in cohiba shipped to the padron factory and rolled into #6s and #9s? I dont need/want any NC flavors in my virtual cigar

Why not make a pre-emargo Cuban with a Connecticut wrapper and sweetened tip? Candela?

Also, interested to see what the earthy mushroom-iness of a Dominican Davidoff would be like with some Cuban tobacco.

I would take the Joya de Nicaragua Antaño 1970 and blend it with the partagas lusitanias. You get the floral, sweet with the lusitanias mixed with the strength, leather and wood of the joya. Perfection to me!

Tatuaje black label corona gorda 2013 and Cohiba Siglo IV.

Pete Johnson made this cigar after a trip to Cuba. As the story goes, he was given a farm rolled from a guy who passed by him on a bike every morning. He said is was the best cigar he had on the Island. When he came back he had this cigar blended with Garcia.

I think the tat with its leather and spice and sweetness with hints of citrus would go really well with the classic Cohiba honey, hay and citrus notes in a classic vitola.

I like the sweet profiles the best.

I would be interested in blending the Fuente Don Carlos blend (sweet, savory, a tad bitter to my palate) with the Por Larranaga blend (sweet, a little spicy, creamy).

I'll also throw in another, Graycliff Espresso blend (sweet, floral, earthy) with Ramon Allones blend (sweet, spicy, savory, floral).

Illusione Epernay + JL1

Both coming in at medium, Epernay should tame the JLs coffee and orange and toss in some sweet spices, bread and honey. I'm thinking The mandarin orange spiced tea from Celestial Seasons.

Davidoff Escurio Gran Toro x PDS4.

Fruity, creamy, chilli spice with a dark chocolate spine of the Davidoff overlaying the earthy goodness, bell pepper and gingerbread sweet of the Partagas.

Imagine an artisan ginger biscuit with a quality dark chilli chocolate coating. Mmm.

I've had Nicaraguan wrappers with Cuban binder/filler that were amazing.  I've be curious as to a Brazilian wrapper with Cuban binder and filler.

Ideally, I would love some kind of ErdM mixed with the Davidoff Orchant Lancero.

On the NC side, exactly where I would go (although I'd go a no. 6 or something, I think that's the robusto size).

On the CC side, RASS. That fruity yet earthy garden kind of flavor I get would be an interesting twang to offset the richness of the Padron.
