El Presidente Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 Anomalies.....there are a few I had a genuine and good hearted email from a member earlier this week asking about why the bands on his Monte 2 didn't quite line up + the fact that the bottom layer looked significantly different to the top layer. I had another question from a different member yesterday saying that one of his RASS is so fat that it looks like it ate another RASS It is time to check out your boxes in a celebration of Cuban quality control? Take a picture of one or more anomalies. Bands/construction/crap cigar wrappers/box discrepancies...whatever. I have three samplers to give away. Drawn Tuesday Post on this thread.
Popular Post Boxer1 Posted August 16, 2019 Popular Post Posted August 16, 2019 Perfect timing. I noticed this band the other day a was going to post a similar topic. 4 1
Corylax18 Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 I created a separate post on these a couple days ago, but they fit this category perfectly. New (post 2008) Tubes, New "Churchill band", but no RyJ Band that was supposedly added at the same time. Add to this that the box is dated MAR 07, a full 9 months before the band/tube transition supposedly began. A special box for sure. 4
99call Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 Excellent cigars, and got a chuckle i didn't even have to pay for. 3 1
Hadroxity Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 If anyone’s ever wondered what that small label under the verification label is here you go. I guess as long as it’s on there it counts? 3
SigmundChurchill Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 Funny, I don't know if this is really an anomaly, but the other day when I removed the LCDH band from my Bolivar Libertador, inside the band was 2 hand written numbers. “106” in red, and “159” in blue. I was wondering if it meant anything significant to the cigar. I was going to take a picture of it, but then I thought “What possible use would I have for it?”. So I didn’t bother.
Popular Post gojira Posted August 16, 2019 Popular Post Posted August 16, 2019 The guy who assembled this box must have had a bad hangover when he did! 4 1

Cubasam Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 Never had a cigar where the ash would continue to be brown in the middle throughout the cigar and the outside would be grey, does that seem weird? When I flick the ash off, the ash looks like it’s dark sawdust Tasted bitter all the to the second third, felt and tasted so weird i threw it out 1

nKostyan Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 Excellent cigars, and got a chuckle i didn't even have to pay for. Two faults:- “connossieur” instead Connaisseur - hoyo’s cedar veneerBingo!

Connossieur has always spelled that way in for the "Connie A". https://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/brand/h-upmann#especialista-en-habanos-exclusivo But different for Partagas. https://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/brand/partagas#serie-du-connaisseur-no1 Go figure. The correct spelling is: Connoisseur

lovethehaze Posted August 17, 2019 Posted August 17, 2019 Outside of this RE band on top not being under the lid and non existent as well as the hardest box to open ever ! My stock is pretty impeccable thanks @Elpresidente maybe a few random CORO wrappers going from super light to super dark as well but my guess this is standard operating procedure, as I am a newbie and don’t have that much experience Cheers
Popular Post garbandz Posted August 17, 2019 Popular Post Posted August 17, 2019 These were a real surprise, and I think they must have been marketed for the Nascar crowd....... 5 1 2
JLinz Posted August 17, 2019 Posted August 17, 2019 This is an Upmann Royal Robusto LUB Oct 14. I've been enjoying this box immensely, but noticed a strange white dot near the end of this one. It was almost perfectly round, as if it wasn't a natural imperfection. It didn't seem to affect the cigar in any appreciable way, but I couldn't stop staring at it the whole time!
earthson Posted August 17, 2019 Posted August 17, 2019 My first box of Havanas was a box of RASS back in 07, before they redesigned the bands. Every band was printed off-center and irregularly stamped with the raised detailing, which led me to worry I had unwittingly purchased fakies. After I lit one, expecting the worst, I was so taken aback at the quality of the tobacco and the cigar as a whole that all worries dissipated in plumes of grey smoke into the summer afternoon breeze. I had never had a RASS before (indeed only a couple Havanas), but I knew if this was a counterfeit, I could be content smoking nothing but for the rest of my days. Fast forward to this past week where I received a box of my beloved SP Non Plus, ordered before hearing the rumor that they are being discontinued. The bands look like a new marketing gimmick to sell what is honestly a rustic cigar. The smell is heavenly, with some more cocoa than I am used to sensing in young SPNP. I no longer am concerned by boxing and banding irregularities. With Cuban labor, often the government gets what it pays for!

CampDelta369 Posted August 17, 2019 Posted August 17, 2019 My first box of PSP Connie A off 24:24 was packed real tight like the box is too small but found a few FAT rolls on top. You can see #5 on top right is smashed oval, with #2 mashed to a lesser degree. Of course i pulled it, with a few others, and did a little massaging then in to the humidor for a few weeks. It was the first one i lit up and was fantastic. But it certainly wasn't round. The new WIDE Connie-A 1
