hosspapa Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 I have a 30th Anniversary Cohiba jar/humidor by Bidasoa (No 0543/1000) that I am trying to put a value on. Mint condition .... but no cigars (major bummer) or packaging. Photos are attached. I have done some research - and while these seem to be collectible - I can't find any for sale online. If anyone could help guide me towards a fair value - that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help. 3
NSXCIGAR Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Probably not worth much more than a few hundred dollars unfortunately. Just the case with almost all post-rev jars, especially post-1999 jars. There's also a box that comes with it which you don't appear to have. Now if the cigars were in it you're talking $3,000-5,000. Cohiba 30th is legendary.
hosspapa Posted August 7, 2019 Author Posted August 7, 2019 Thank you. This jar is 1996 if it makes any difference .... and only 1000 were produced. What raised my attention was a 2000 Jar (10,000 made) sold on ebay in May 2018 for $549. No cigars but they did have all the packaging. I didn't have any idea the jar itself might be that valuable and thus thought I would reach out to see if anyone had any additional info. While this is a sold price on eBay - sometimes I wonder. PS: I wish I had the cigars in it as well! Thank you again for the response.
Popular Post Puro1876 Posted October 13, 2019 Popular Post Posted October 13, 2019 Hi, I just noticed your posting and wanted to take the time to let you know that unfortunately your jar is a counterfeit copy of the original. I have some of the 30th Aniversario Cohiba’s and the jar is slightly tapered or flared at the bottom, whereas your jar is straight sided. Furthermore, the cigars were released in 1996, so the Cuban Warranty seal should not have the red serial number on the seal. The seal on your jar wasn’t introduced until 1999. Sorry to be the bearer of this bad news, but these 30th Aniversario cigars and jars were highly counterfeited because they were extremely expensive then and even more so today. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. 3 2
Habana Mike Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 Sadly it's true https://www.cgarsltd.co.uk/product_info_previous.php?products_id=3978
Puro1876 Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 Ya. So true. The colors on the counterfeit jar are off as well. If someone has never seen the genuine article it’s very easy to be fooled.
hosspapa Posted January 6, 2020 Author Posted January 6, 2020 Thank you very much. While I would have liked it to have been genuine -- I very much appreciate you taking the time to clarify that this is not an authentic jar. Thanks again for sharing your expertise. 1
