JohnS
12. Montecristo No.4 – UEB MAY 18 Montecristo, meaning the 'Mountain of Christ' and named after the island off the west coast of Italy most famously referenced in Alexandre Dumas' 19th century novel, 'The Count of Monte Cristo' is synonymous amongst cigar enthusiasts as a marca which can scale great heights and yet disappoint with low depths. The Montecristo No.4 is perhaps the most well-known vitola within the marca. How did it come to be so well renowned over the years? Thank you for your support in following this series this year. I look forward to doing some more next year.
CampDelta369
Great review and history on the Montecristo marca. I really enjoy the #4 with my morning coffee. Also a 2018 box REG MAY 18, which I think is of a slightly darker wrapper as you noted. Very consistent coffee, cream, cocoa, and a cold draw and nose that is mesmerizing to say the least.
