caught up with a mate of mine who recently got to spend some time on the set. he is quite familiar with a lot of the people involved in all this. he has been sworn to secrecy about many things and would not spill, despite my best efforts (he did let a bit slip a tiny bit but then swore me to secrecy and it was nothing earth-shattering anyway).

apparently - and a lot of this is already known so hardly a spoiler and is right nat the beginning anyway - kicks off in jamaica with 007 retired and living with the woman from the last pic (if i may digress, this immediately causes me an issue as she was the least exciting/impressive of all the bond girls, they knew each other for about 48 hours, she was nothing but a pain in the proverbial that entire time and they didn't get on at all for about 47 of those hours so who would buy that 007 would give it all up for her, plus where does the money to live like that come from given we are always led to believe Bond hardly has a brass razoo). he is called back into action and as we all known the new woman has his 007 number.

what absolutely stunned my friend and what he had not heard and would be stunned if it happened was that she took his name as well. i know some reports have said the name goes with the number and hence goes to her. he does not believe that will happen.

that, of course, opens things up for the following pic.

I heard it from a mate who is a friend of the fitness coach of Rebel Wilson.

Peter Dinklage has the 007 role sown up. Put money on it.

Daniel Craig's Next Bond Movie Finally Has A Title: No Time To Die

jfpfn60flovnjqzqijob.gif

The age of just calling it “Bond 25” is over. It’s time for, err, well, No Time to Die.

The title of the long-in-the-making return to James Bond for Craig — and his final one in the role he took over since 2006's Casino Royale — was officially revealed on social media today, as well as a new release date of April 3, 2020 in the UK, and April 8 2020 in the U.S.

It will release on April 8 2020 in Australia.

It was accompanied by a short video of Craig doing the classic Bond “walk on from off-camera and turn to look at the audience” bit that usually concludes with Bond shooting a would-be-assassin. This time, he just reveals a fancy title treatment.

The news also comes with a brand new synopsis for the film, revealing that Bond has retired — only to be drawn back into the spy game by Felix Leiter for a new mission:

Quote

In No Time To Die, Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.

Directed by Cary Fukunaga — who replaced Danny Boyle on the project — and written by Fukunaga, Neal Purvis, Robert Wade, Scott Burns, and Fleabag’s Phoebe Waller-Bridge, No Time to Die also stars Rami Malek, Lashana Lynch (herself rumoured as a potential replacement for Craig as 007), Billy Magnussen, and Ana de Armas, alongside returning names like Léa Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, and more.

Love that there will be some long shot. old school stunts, a lost art.  The donut in the DB5 with mini gun head lights, was fantastically crass. Love it. Can't wait to see it with my Dad, one of our family traditions that is still alive.

I'm just excited to see the V8 Vantage make a return. A supremely under-appreciated Bond car. Think "The Living Daylights".

My first thought as well!

*** Didn't Daniel Craig say he'd rather get skinned alive or die some gruesome "for James Bond only death"  to leave this earth than play Bond again!??? Wonder what made him change his mind?

i think that was said after about 12 months arduous filming and umpteen injuries. not sure it was ever much more than tongue-in-cheek. but who among us wouldn't sign on for the fun and many millions?

i am really disappointed they have brought that french woman back. she was a huge let down last film. even a french mate, who is sort of involved with the filming of bond, tells me she is not popular in france.

that new clip answers one question for me - lot of talk that the new actress (sorry, no idea of the name) would take over next film. if she is already a 00 then they won't be swapping her across to 007 so she might appear but no way will she be the lead.

I'm about ready for a new Bond. They always start out good, then get really goofy after a few movies.

Except Roger Moore, who started out running across crocodiles and went downhill from there.

i'd also argue live and let die was his best and it certainly went downhill fast, not from a very great height.

i thought that the pierce brosnan set was the exception. started very disappointingly and i thought he got better each outing.

*Are you talking about Eva Green - who was supposed to have been killed (drowned) in Casino Royal? As far as Craig's umpteen injuries, all he has to do is let one of the MANY stuntmen available for him do their thing - and let him sit back. I know that many physically fit actors like to do their own stunts (to a point) for realism's sake, but come on, be reasonable. Ian McKellan while doing an interview during the filming of one of those Lord of the Rings movies pointed to ALL THOSE white clothed, bearded, wizard's hat wearing men all around him who were playing him for all that horse riding, sword fighting, etc.

no, not eva green. she's not coming back! the blonde (allow me a moment to google it). got it - lea seydoux. i really really struggled with the concept that he met her and she was nothing but a pain in the proverbial and then 24 hours later, she caves and he falls for her? give me a break. i guess that they had this in mind well before spectre but seriously, he walks away for her. i do not think so.

and absolutely true for the stunts, although i think some injuries were that and some just happened.

from the look of that trailer, she may fall on the wrong side of bond's wrath (that would be one in the eye for me too). i see the young cuban actress is involved (i'd have to google her as well). so she might be the "bond girl du jour" and the blonde the villain and the new 00 girl a side interest. but all that is absolute speculation.

i'm just hoping that Bolly come out to Brizzy and do their usual private showing pre release!

But Bond kind of falls for just about any girl isn't it? As long as she's hot; doesn't really matter how she treats him at the start.

I’m reasonably intrigued after watching the trailer - always keeping in mind that they usually show the best scenes in them already...

no, definitely not. he might take advantage of the situation, so to speak, but not "fall" for them. not actually leave the service for one. the diana rigg character was one, but they admitted that was an error. but of all the women he has 'encountered', her? i think not.
