Popular Post irratebass Posted March 31, 2019 Popular Post Posted March 31, 2019 This cigar was gifted to me, so I do not have a box code, but I have the year, so that's 1 point for me....Yay go me! This cigar is packed full, I have a good feeling about this. This is a fat bastard.....a quick jump to CCW I do see that this beast is a 54 rg....whew, ok here we go. The cigar is velvety smooth to the touch, there are some seams, but there are no visible veins. I go ahead and punch the cigar, and right away on the cold draw I am greeted with a really nice peanut and cream flavor. Alright, so far I'm digging this. I think this may be my 1st time smoking a Serie E No 2.....so this is a treat for me. Ok, so let's light up. Ok right away there is more cream, and peanuts, but there is a hint of cinnamon or caramel. Very nice so far. 1/3 Still getting the same notes as before, but now there is a floral element especially on the retro and a bit of nutmeg on the finish. 2/3 really no change up....that's fine with me, as long as it continues to smoke well I'm happy. really enjoying this cigar so far. 3/3 As I progress into the final third there is a bit of spice and some bread that has creeped into the mix. Had to put the cigar down with an inch to go.....not bad right? Draw Was nice, that had a little resistance to it, which is fine with me, no complaints, and plenty of smoke output. Burn Only had a couple of touch ups, no complaints. Construction Top notch. Had no issues, but it did get a little hot at the very end, but that's to be expected. Overall This was a fantastic smoke. Like I mentioned I don't think I've ever had this cigar before. There was plenty of peanut, cream, a bit of spice some nutmeg and bread to really hold my interest, and really rounded out the cigar. I can't recommend this cigar enough. 90/100 5
nKostyan Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 Great review! Here's what's bugging me: the 2011 release... strong cigar... but there are no reviews of the aged anywhere . The cigar is magnificent in a year after production. Who smoked 2011-2013 years? Should we age E2? 1
irratebass Posted March 31, 2019 Author Posted March 31, 2019 Thanks, this was a 15, so if you want my opinion then YES, age them 1
rcarlson Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 Mine smoked so good earlier today, I'm not seeing that age will necessarily improve it. I'd like to find out, but my grubby mitts wouldn't allow it. I can't wait for the next. One thing: I didn't get the peanut but I did get a smoked almond or something kinda nutty like it throughout. Other than that, you and I had the same experience. Not usually a fan of the monster RG, but in this case it probably is key for all of the flavors to come together. Question for you, Irratebass. Are you a pissed-off or 1
