Popular Post Riverstyx Posted March 29, 2019 Popular Post Posted March 29, 2019 I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this, so move it if need be. The build-out of my man cave has commenced, and it will include a small walk-in humidor. I thought I'd update the progress along the way here for anybody that's interested...I always like seeing other people's builds. It's a small room, and will double as my office/smoking room. The closet that will be the humidor had a normal door in it that was removed, the opening widened and will have french doors. Cedar was all provided by Bob. It's still a mess... 16
Puros Y Vino Posted March 29, 2019 Posted March 29, 2019 You're in the right place. These posts are always welcomed and encouraged. Just ...ahem..rotate some of the pictures. 2
rckymtn22 Posted March 29, 2019 Posted March 29, 2019 Looking forward to following along and seeing the final results. 1

That's exactly my plan, just need one more kid to move out so I can take over room! What is the plan for entry door into humidor? Big opening to fill, build out with single door? Sliding glass doors? Nice to have some etched glass with "humidor" on it. 1
canadianbeaver Posted March 30, 2019 Posted March 30, 2019 Fantastic! Congratulations and thanks for showing this progress! CB 1
shippers Posted March 30, 2019 Posted March 30, 2019 That looks awesome. What you thinking about ventilation / smell? 1
Hookmaker Posted March 30, 2019 Posted March 30, 2019 Interesting to see what kind of shelving you plan to build. 1

Etching humidor would be awesome. Looked at at a lot of options for ventilation. Going to start with just a fan and cover the return. If I have to, I’ll add a full split system. 7
Popular Post Riverstyx Posted April 3, 2019 Author Popular Post Posted April 3, 2019 A few updated pics. The lights on top will be covered with crown molding. Insulation completed for the humidor. Cedar for the humidor starting today.... 8
joshhooper7 Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 Damn brother that all is coming together beautifully! I love the inlaid lights in the crown molding. Where are ya from? Time to plan a herf ? 1
Riverstyx Posted April 3, 2019 Author Posted April 3, 2019 @joshhooper7 Thanks. I'm on the other side of the country - Florida. It's a smaller room, but happy to have company.

DeskSmkr Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 Looks great, love to see more photos and hear about the progress. I’ve been working on my man cave, and while I’m not ready to share my pictures just yet, I can share success with ventilating. I’ve been partially opening two windows that are across the room from each other and blocked off the bottom half of one opening, and the top half of the other. This, combined with an electric heater and cooler outdoor temps, creates a gentle cross flow where warm indoor air flows out the top opening of one window, and cool air comes in the lower opening on the other window. It’s been working well enough when there is a temperature differential. Simple and effective. If necessary, I open all the windows. The room usually gets sealed up soon after each smoking session, and a small air filter, with an internal UV bulb, runs on low all the time. The room has residual cigar odor but it’s mild and agreeable. 1
