Popular Post 99call Posted March 25, 2019 Popular Post Posted March 25, 2019 Hoyo du Gourmet SOT SEPT 2011 Aroma at cold: old rich vanilla laden oaky tobacco. antique furniture shop smell Cold Draw: light soft rounded vanilla tobacco, slight tang of white woods 1st 3rd I’ve reviewed these before, and they’re very much in step with others from the box. Lovely melded buttery woodiness, rich vanilla. No real sign of the dried currant sweetness as yet 2nd 3rd Not showing the level of sheer class, that the other examples have been reliable for.. The next doors neighbours feral kids have decided to come out, and scream inanely and endlessly………I’m desperately hoping for a slip off the ‘tramp’ aline, ankle snap, and for the ear ache to bugger off to the local hospital. Muted wight woods, creamy vanilla, 3rd 3rd Worst from the box so far, I’ve come to expect so much from them, and this is just very nice and lilting. Soft woods, and vanilla, but at an intensity level that’s at 25% of what they usually show. Showing a little bit of that warm buttery baked. Eccles cakes, or Welsh cakes. Does a bit of a tannic ramp up of powerful woods, Conclusion This was a classic case of letting expectations destroy your experience. A perfectly pleasant cigar, but a shadow of how good these can be. The profile was still there, but annoyed that it was fleeting. My rancid neighbours also saw to the fact this cigar, was always going to be destroyed as an experience. Score 90, perfectly pleasant, to be honest, me and my foul mood, may have brought the score down. All was quiet and calm when I lit up…………Some times the stars do not align. 7
