Hoyo de Monterrey Coronation Pre 2006 (HRW)

Decided to pull out this older cigar that was gifted by a BOTL.

Not sure if the date, but judging by the old band it is before 06/07 according to Cuban cigar website. https://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/brand/hoyo-de-monterrey

 

Paired this with an ultra smooth rum, SDC 12 year.

 

Draw is perfect with excellent construction. Decided to V cut this cigar. The smoke volume is very good with no touch ups required.

 

1st: leather and wood with some slight spice(not the classic clove that I get from hdm but more of a pepper)

2nd: cedar, leather and a touch of cream

3rd: woody and the creaminess picked up a little but not as much as I would like. Very herbal in the end of the final third.

 

Good smoke, but nothing to complex. Mild and ended on the medium side.
