Popular Post CigarScentedBeard Posted March 23, 2019 Popular Post Posted March 23, 2019 I've tried checking the date on habanos but that site hates me. So a warning, I am not a person that can tell the individual flavors. My taste profile seems to only understand good and bad. That being said, I do like the no.2 a lot. I can't remember trying any other HDM, I bought 15 of these after seeing some suggestions on here and the advice was correct..... Yes I was lurking. I really do want to try more HDMs, and I hope they are as good as the no. 2. After trying the first cigar out of the pack, I have been excited everytime I have one and have yet to be let down. When the weekend review was HDM I was more than happy to pull one out. I smoked this beauty in between my hard day at work and my hard day at home doing work. Without anymore rambling, here goes my first review attempt ever. Pre-light: Good Lord, your a little rough looking but dear do you smell sweet to me. In my military days I was known to pick up some ugly ones, but they generally treat you better than the prettier ones. So in general, this cigar has a nice personality and I look forward to a more intimate encounter. I used a V-cut, no cracking or any abuse came after the first touch, so I believe we may have mutual bond and have found respect for one another. Loose draw, that's ok with me, I'm not perfect myself. The taste had a delicious salt to it. First third: Right out the gate, exactly as I expected. Not an overwhelming amount of smoke, even light and burn was consistent with no touch ups or runs. My thoughts during the first third were, this is delicious, why don't I have more..... I do have more that's right. Then i pondered on why fingernails were such a necessity towards our early years as humans thousands of years ago. Second third: Still a consistent burn, almost a perfect ring around the cigar so far, and still enjoying this cigar very much. Personal thoughts during second third: I feel like thumbs were a much bigger contribution towards our success and survival than fingernails. If I had to lose a finger, I wouldn't choose my thumb. Third third: This has been a very well behaved and great tasting cigar. Even though I'm not out, I think I'd really like to get more to age and know how old they are. The no.2 being my first and only HDM has left a great impression on me about the company. I wish I was a great taster and could describe any flavors, but I'm not, nor will I attempt to pad my review by looking up what others have tasted. An honest review is that this is a great cigar. The retrohale was not rough but smooth, the taste was soft but not lacking. The smell was delicious and my only gripe is the ridiculous amount of glue they put on the band and cigar. 5
GavLew79 Posted March 23, 2019 Posted March 23, 2019 You might want to chuck "(HRW)" in your post title chief, otherwise it might get missed in the review draw.

I can tell you what taste good to me and what I like, and truthfully that's the most importantant thing, my enjoyment! I can tell you if it's great, good, bad or terrible. I can tell you if it's mild, medium or full flavored, or when it becomes harsh. I will never be able to tell you i detect traces of my grandmother's fresh baked apple cinnamon pie on a hot summer day! 1
Dynamo320 Posted March 24, 2019 Posted March 24, 2019 I’m def like you when it comes to this. Yes, I can get the cream, citrus, and chocolate and such. But can I differentiate between white and black pepper? uh no. ?. That guy on YouTube, CutLightSmoke for example. Seems like a really nice guy, but I’m like cmon dude, for real? I really think you are full of shit pulling 97 obscure flavors out of a draw from that Rocky Patel! 1
