I picked up a couple of these at the LCDH in Luxembourg when my wife said she wanted something to smoke with my on vacation. This morning when we set out for a day of champagne I threw one in my travel case so it would be available for her if she wanted it. After many, many glasses, and a H. Upmann Connaisseur No. 2, I found myself in a precious situation... we were going to dinner soon, but I still had another glass of champagne to drink. So, out comes the Le Hoyo du Maire!

It is a very small cigar (obviously), and built almost like a cigarillo. Upon cutting it, the draw was a bit tight, but it didn’t seem like much of a problem.

First half (it’s a little too small to divide in thirds gave me some great leather and cedar. It had the ever so slighted sweetness to it as well.

The second half saw the sweetness go away and the leather came in strong.

Overall, a great smoke for the situation. I’ll give it 4/5 on the “drunk guy needs a quick cigar scale.”
