Popular Post Gamehawker Posted March 22, 2019 Popular Post Posted March 22, 2019 Again, like last week regarding the MRW, I used this HRW to smoke a HdM from my stash of aged cigars in my coolidors. I have not smoked a HdM in a long time (my favorites are the Deputes) and have never smoked a Hoyo de Monterrey Le Hoyo de San Juan. I got a 10 pack of these about 2 years ago. They are the same size as my favorite San Cris Torreon so I had high expectations being that they almost 3 1/2 years old. I smoked this cigar again while roasting coffee. The first third had cedar taste and was medium body. The draw was slightly tight but it was not a problem. The second third continued with a cedar taste and a slight cream/pepper finish. No sweetness to this cigar what-so-ever. The final third was still the same and overall was pretty much one dimensional. It took about 95 minutes to smoke it. I much prefer the San Cris Torreon to this cigar. I would rate it a 85 and they really not my cup of tea. I will I'll put the other 9 from the box away to age more to see if they get better around the 5 year mark. 6

My box code is "EML ABR 14" (almost 5 years old) and they are awesome now. Here is a picture of one of them st the bottom of the post and the picture of the jar and box. 1
