Diplomaticos #3 2003 (DEFJ Weekend Review)

 I think I'm down to three of these now, the last of the great Diplomaticos rush that consumed everyone when the news of the indiscriminate deletions was revealed.

  Perfect draw, although this was the third attempt; one was plugged and the second one was a wind tunnel...

  Straight off it's typical Dip although slightly muted. The crème brulé is there, bit of cashew and aftertaste of sour cream. A hit of white pepper on the tip of the tongue. It's a very dry smoke however, hopefully this will burst into life soon.

  Second third and the expected paprika shows up but it's quickly replaced with tumeric; I can't say I've ever experienced that before. Soon enough most of the flavours from the first third have gone by the wayside and have been replaced with leather, it's a disappointment to say the least. One positive is that the cigar started giving out buckets of lemonade. Out of nowhere and it's in spades, I've never tasted anything like it.

  Into the final third and that magical lemonade has gone. Everything has turned darker and it's back to leather. Still dark but it's velvety soft. The sweetness has never really left the cigar from the start, it just evolved; now it's an overly ripe blueberry kind of sickly syrup.

  Crazy cigar, even the weather seemed to match it. Glorious sunshine to start then hail and snow had me running for the shed then back to the sun for the final third.

  90/100 it was just too mixed up to keep up with. Very enjoyable but left me confused and worn out, although the weather may have played a part!

I have most of an ‘01 box left, haven’t gotten any lemonade flavors out of the few I’ve tried.  Pretty interesting!

I don't think I've ever got it from any cigar, very bizarre. I remember having candy floss/cotton candy from the Spanish Diplomaticos RE once too, maybe there's a little pixie magic with Dip
