Çnote Posted February 24, 2019 Posted February 24, 2019 Left to Right PC ETP NOV 16 I got a box of these at a great deal, but I'm convinced they are below average Bolivar. I've had about 10 of them over the past 6 weeks, light cream, fresh hay, superb draw; just not up to spec of other Bolivar I've gotten before. No depth or richness, no funk or mongrel like I would expect... (Full disclosure - not an FoH box). Next up PC ??? I'm told 3+ years aged by the generous BOTL who handed this to me. Much more on point, rich rum raisin cake and clotted cream is my 1st impression; terribly tight draw but a wicked straight burn even with hasty lighting in a briskly chilly wind. Cake and creamed coffee in the 2nd 3rd, wonderful balance. Draw finally opens on ash drop at 1/2 way. Coffee turned to pleasantly bitter black tea. Unfortunately draw is still so tight that it's a chore to enjoy it. Next! BBF ??? 18 FoH 1/4 box, I need to keep better notes on purchases. I love pyramids, but given time constraints, I usually light PC, HC, MC, etc. I bought these as a treat and somehow waited a full 90 days. WOW: worth the wait! Gloriously smooth and creamy rich upon lighting. Sandalwood pound cake vanilla treacle. Wonky burn but draws like glass. Funky mongrel in spades as I would expect and enjoy from a younger Boli. An excellent cigar which I will try to age, but will more than likely smoke my stock of too soon. My two take aways: age Bolivars, source from @El Presidente 2 1
JGD Posted February 24, 2019 Posted February 24, 2019 If she is allergic to cedar, then no cigar should cause a reaction based on their flavors, as those flavors aren’t caused by cedar itself. The only issue I can see is if she has a reaction due to the cigar being stored in a wooden box, but even those aren’t cedar. Some may be Spanish Cedar, but that is from the mahogany family.
