Oh lord, that was the most pathetic Super Bowl I’ve ever watched. Such a boring game and there was a complete lack of good commercials. I wish I could have those 4 hours of my life back.

I didn’t watch a single play or commercial.  The TV was off while we made dinner and got the twins ready for bed. I googled the final score when I laid down around 10 pm

Snooze fest for sure. Game was bad, commercials were bad, halftime show was worse.  And the Patriots won which was the actual worst. I could go on for hours about my dislike for that organization.  'We were underdogs the whole season.' Uh no, you were not. You're the Patriots, and you you've won so many times you make the NFL boring.

Boring game. They didn't even have the weather or playing surface as an excuse for the low score. Ended up watching something else much more interesting.

Fantastic stuff!!! We are thrilled in New England!!

Everyone wrote them off this year, Tom’s to old, Gronk to slow, etc.... and they still battled through some tough games and played best when they needed to. 

Boring offensive game for sure but I’ll take a boring win!

I didn’t have a dog in the fight so I would have been happy seeing a good game. What we got was a below average game with one good defense (Rams) shutting  down a good offense, and an average defense (Pats) running roughshod over an overhyped QB. The moment was far too big for Goff. The game turned on a few phantom calls and bad FG kicking. Would have loved to see a single explosive play. Congrats to the Pats and their fans but the real star was Gladis Knight.

Heh, I enjoyed my evening watching the game. 

Could do without halftime and Commercials and umpteen anthems.  I can't wait until sport does away with all this singing.

A masterpiece of defensive football by both teams with old age and treachery (experience) defeating youth and enthusiasm. The car buying commercial still makes me laugh. Beet loaf.

The Red Sox and the Patriots, who'd a thought they would gain such dominance? It's a great time to be a fan around here.

I think if you are a Patriots fan or a Rams fan (do the Rams have fans?), then it was an exciting game because until the very end one score could change anything. However, if you were just watching without any stake then I can see how it could have been boring. At least the low scoring was due to great defense as opposed to just sloppy play all round.

That was certainly a dull game, but interesting to consider in context. I was thinking that the Pats - for the whole of the season - were not the best team in the NFL. The Saints, Chiefs, and Rams all played better in aggregate for the past 20 weeks. 

But the funny thing is, that never seems to matter. The Pats seem like they know the cheat code for getting to the Super Bowl, and once they're there, they just go out and play disciplined, boring football while they wait for their opponent to wilt under the pressure and beat themselves. And it almost always happens that way, with the exception of Philly last year. They didn't wilt and didn't beat themselves, and the Pats couldn't keep up.

Belichick is a master of being the last guy standing, even (or especially) when his team isn't the best in the league. It's like the pressure cooker of Super Bowl week is his home turf, and he's just luring unsuspecting dupes into an unavoidable trap.

Snoozefest....I decided that doing laundry was more entertaining.

Rams will be contenders again next year, it will depend on if Goff can improve on this piss poor performance and I Gurley can get healthy again.

My prediction is Gronk retires, and I think the Pats era slowly starts to crumble over the next 2 years when I expect brady to retire.

The Rams offense looked like the Vikings. Poor play calling and execution.

Would have been a much more exciting game if saints were in it, as most people probably agree they should have been!

Belichick took the wunderkind McVay to school, which was fascinating to watch, especially as it was explained by Tony Romo.  The Rams' offensive personality was taken completely away and they had no backup plan--Goff had no chance to be any good, since McVay called only straight drop-back passes from very early on--something the Rams have not done all year, other than in the Chicago  game (which they also lost for the same reason--learn or die). Brady may have not played his best but the TD drive featured some amazing plays from him.  The three successive uses of the same play but to different guys was like watching a surgeon at work. Yes, I missed more scoring but I really enjoyed watching the Pats operate on D, with Belichick pulling the levers.

I was actually at the game for work -- I think there were a couple of striking things about it in the stadium:

1) Patriot fans in the stadium outnumbered Rams fans roughly 10 to 1. It was, for all intents and purposes, a Pats home game. 

2) Very hard for even those fans to get excited, though. Game was so choppy and lacked any flow or interest for long stretches. 

3) Edelman was essentially uncoverable for the Rams -- he's a tough matchup for most teams, but Talib got absolutely torched by him all night. 

4) McVay said after the game that he got outcoached, and that was apparent throughout. Good defensive gameplan by the Pats, but he didn't make any adjustments, and kept putting Goff in situations where he was more likely to fail. Contrast that to the Pats TD drive, where McDaniels got the matchups he wanted from the Rams defense by changing the personnel grouping. New England's flexibility, both over the course of a season and in a game, are really the key of their sustained success.

5) People were actively laughing at the halftime show.

After that garbage performance by the Rams, I think the Saints should follow the BCS example of UCF in 2017 and just declare themselves co-Champs. Rings, banners, the whole kit.
