jazzbass Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 I love what David Byrne is doing with Saint Vincent.
bolivr Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Been going nuts with the Spotify lately, looking up some of the old stuff. I have very broad taste in music and surprised how much I am enjoying Linda Ronstadt. What a voice! Also listening to Art Tatum, as I used to play piano, this guy is astonishing.
REASON Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Funny, earlier today I was in the car and heard "Is This Love", and it hit me just how timeless Marley's music really is, at least to me. I agree 100%, every now and then I cant help but sit back put my feet up and enjoy that moment.
tydra Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 I've sort of moved on from "straight" metal to doom/death, it's usually more melodic, plus there's a nice mix between clean vocals and metal style vocals
Danston Posted February 2, 2013 Author Posted February 2, 2013 Ive been up for around 20 hours and aive had several libations, listening to some irish trad 1
anthem Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Heard a GREAT Heart cover of Stairway to Heaven last night. At some charity or induction ceremony in NYC I think. Can't find it now, but dare I blaspheme and say it is better than the original? Here it is http://youtu.be/JK_DOJa99oo
Danston Posted February 2, 2013 Author Posted February 2, 2013 Here it is. Wow thats an incredible version of a CLASSIC, to impress Jimmy as it clearly did is phenomenal and to capture the emotion of the song in a big enough way to affect a man thats sung it a thousand times is magic. No more blasphemy though fellas Also that lead guitarist must have stones the size of watermelons to play infront of Mr Page 1
Coolio Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 I'm listening to Mark Lanegan. His 2001 album Field Songs is a favourite of mine. 1
brazoseagle Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 One of the most honest and truthful songs in the last decade!
brazoseagle Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 As I close out every night of listening to music, I always close out with this song! So this week, with the loss of a hero and a great soldier here in Texas, this is lifted up even higher tonight. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qZBFdvZDfM
GernBlansten Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Just caught these guys in concert this past Saturday. The old guys can still bring it! Whole new respect for Chris Cornell.
