Popular Post nKostyan Posted January 4, 2019 Popular Post Posted January 4, 2019 Romeo y Julieta Tacos Edición Limitada 2018 Two cigars presented to me by a colleague when he got back from Spain. Purchased at Tabacalera store November 5, 2018, acclimatization in humidor with Boveda 69 at +18 degrees Celsius Aroma at cold: wrapper - the smell of leather. On the cut - a little smoked, dried fruit, vanilla. Appearance: the wrapper is Colorado-Maduro with rough veins, semi-gloss, slightly oily. After acclimatization irregularities appeared. Twist tight enough, pull is average effort. Pairing: As a pair, I chose bottled melt water from glaciers of the North Caucasus. Smoking 1/3 The first puffs give the cigar belonging to the brand RyJ-a taste characteristic of the Wide Churchill in the Colorado-Maduro wrapper. Deep puffs give a very thick dense viscous smoke: bitter espresso, bitter chocolate, acidity like Arabica coffee, dark caramel, smoked tobacco, alcohol. Leather in the background. A warm cigar wrapper smells like popcorn. Light slow puffs give light smoke and rounded taste without pronounced corners, the bitterness of coffee and chocolate is almost not felt. Burning a little not smooth, affects the roughness of the wrapper. However, you should not get involved in slow puffs, burning goes inside the filling. In order to burn the wrapper to do deep intense tightening. The aftertaste is alcoholic acidic, there is no dryness, on the contrary: the receptors deceived by gastronomic tastes make abundantly saliva, but I refresh my mouth with water to clear the receptors for a new portion of taste. The taste is strong, it is possible to accompany alcohol, I would be choose Porto, but stay with water. 2/3 The flavors of the first third of the gradually reduced intensity and there were almond and walnut from seeds of the apricot, with its distinctive alcoholic taste, roasted tobacco. The smoke was velvety, the acidity is almost gone. Cigar requires frequent puffs, otherwise burning goes inside and goes out. The taste becomes rounded at any puffs, it's like a seasoned alcoholic tincture-a mixture of coffee, dark chocolate, almonds and fried tobacco. From the middle of the cigar, each puff is a small flavor bomb that gives a thick heavy dense smoke. The aftertaste is still closer to the coffee with nuts. I refresh my mouth with cold water,as usual I s espresso. Ashes in the breaking away of crumbles, it is friable. To maintain the burning of the wrapper, I make double deep puffs, which causes nicotine intoxication. I fall into a chair and enjoy the lightness and weakness in my body. After another break of ash inside a small tunnel is visible-the cause of uneven combustion, but I regularly correct burning with a lighter and do not feel discomfort. 3/3 This taste is difficult to decompose into components-a single rounded taste, characteristic of many Maduro cigars. Strength is high. Here can come strong alcohol with a rich taste for pairing. Added peppermint tongue tingling, characteristic of many strong CC, but still felt the signature taste of RyJ. Puffs becomes more difficult, but does not cause great difficulties. The aftertaste has not changed-strong espresso strong roasting. The taste is clean and not clogged with resins, you can smoke until it burns your fingers. Burning's back to normal. Smoke hangs in the room, slowly mixing with the air. I'm in Nirvana... Conclusion Strength: from medium-strong to strong. Cigar body: full bodied Potential for aging: aging is not required, cigar has no unpleasant tastes. But over the years, the cigar will be better and better. Pairing: a sweet soft drink if you need to help the body defeat nicotine. Alcohol sweet not strong drink of Porto or Sherry. It is possible to connect strong aged alcohol for 3/3.Smoking time: 2 hours Total score: 90+ cigar P.S. This “organoleptic still life” characterizes RyJ Tacos very precisely: 6

Chucko8 Posted January 5, 2019 Posted January 5, 2019 Thanks for the great review. Sounds like quite a strong stick. Will keep the ones I have away for a bit of time I think. 1
Markspring1978 Posted January 5, 2019 Posted January 5, 2019 Nice work @nKostyan . I picked up a box of these and was a little concerned about some of the negative I was hearing. Will put these down for a couple years and look forward to a good smoke. 1
