...While I agree, the No.1 is a wonderful, beautiful cigar indeed, no question, I am happy that they are keeping the No.4. Along with the MdO2, the most versatile cigar of the range.

Where and when was the last time you saw No. 2 available?  I don't mean at this one CH store in the Alps for 800+ CHF...  What is the most recent box code MdO2?

LGC shouldn't be a fat and short marca.  What they had was fine and suited the flavor profile to a T. Tainos was an odd ball.  Use to get 10 count box for around $100 and smoked a ton of them.  Great first cigar of the day considering how delicate the flavor are.

I think the most recent codes from the #2 are from 2014. I snagged this beautiful box about a year ago, and now they have really started to dry up. I got into Cuban cigars about 5 years ago when these were still in production. LGC became my favorite marca. So it's a real shame to see where it's going, at least for the standard production vitolas. What I wouldn't give for a box of Tainos! I almost had a box of them a while back but I just missed them. They lasted about a split second?

So, just try them if you can get hold of any No.2s (not been in production after 2014), you won't be disappointed.

....didn't mean to address MdO2-availability in any way (if that is your point), just said - alongside the MdO2 - the MdO4 is the most versatile format.

I've never tried 1 nor 2 nor Tainos. But the more I hear people talk of them, the more curious I become.

I've plenty of 4s (2010,2013) and some 3s from 2008. Which I do like. Time to stock up with some fresh boxes for the future then...

I guess the recent Spanish RE is nothing of the same? Not tried one yet.

No 3 are more of a novelty smoke for me.  Tremendous cigar, but too serious for most of my smoking.  If I want to think about and absorb a cigar, No. 3 would be the pick of the range.  No. 4 is awesome for a slim panetela; just don't smoke those much...

Not for me. They all had their purpose. While I agree, the No.1 is a wonderful, beautiful cigar indeed, no question, I am happy that they are keeping the No.4. Along with the MdO2, the most versatile cigar of the range. Whereas the No.1 demands a greater commitment, in terms of time, situation, monetary etc.. While I was a regular buyer, it is and has always been a special-occasion cigar for me - well, now anyway.... The MdO4 is a staple. That seems also what has been found reflected in sales, obviously.

And true, have to concur with LonesomeHabano - no need for thick-girth LGCs, neither as ER (never had a truly convincing one), or LCDH nor in regular production. The demise of this marca is eye-watering bitter. Meanwhile (emphasis on mean) really more than enough short&fatties for the instant-gratification masses to be had, from all brands - and with bling to boot. Folks, if you don't like the Cuban cigar for what it is - why...., oh well ....

Bonus pic for Lonesome..., thanks for bringing up the MdO4, and all these fine and sadly meanwhile unknown-to-many cigars to our attention again! (and apols for the little rant)

Much agree with those posts! Why do great classic skinnies are just biting the dust compared to short and fatties (there are many folks who believe thick RGs are better than skinnies in my country)? Marcas like LGC would be much better if becoming thin RG exclusive brand IMHO.

I think it’s fair to say that this is a sentiment shared by many of us. Unfortunately, the big money is elsewhere. HSA is learning to cater to the broader markets rather than the [much smaller marketshare of] devoted niche hobbyists.

It reminds me today's game industry (not every games are that bad) since giant game companies like EA are just blindly focusing on adding cash grabbing contents rather than giving some effort to make games better (e.g. too many cheaters on Overwatch)...

Try the new short Spanish Regional edition, it's great!

Thanks! Can you PM me where can I get them? I am sure that they are not available on FOH since it is European RE...

After reading this thread I put two boxes of Medaille d’Or No. 4 in my cart last night. Didn’t check out right away and found them to be sold out tonight when I tried. Looks like a few other people had the same idea as me!

Skinny cigars are harder smoke and not popular for long time.  Killing off Partagas SdC is equally a tragedy for similar size cigars.  At least Partagas remains a strong marca.

Yes I had them in my cart too and didn’t purchase right away as I was looking for something else to make the 200 minimum.
Even looks like LGC is off the list too. Hope Rob is getting more.

I personally found them easy and enjoyable as thicker RGs to me as long as I do not puff them like crazy ?. For Partagas, I definitely want to try 898. Lusitanias and E2 ?.

Sorry for the late reply, haven't been active here. I saw them in seville only, sorry I couldn't help you with these.
