Has anyone seen the coronas recently?  I haven't seen any boxes with dates after 2016.  I was guessing these were going to be axed also.

Yeah totally didn’t read any of it...

I can get how you misread my post as a dumbass comment but I still haven’t seen any after 2016 with the old band so I asked a question out of curiosity.

Is there any word on their new "jazzed up" price. I realise the days of being able to pick them up for $145 are over, but hopefully it won't be too painfull?

i haven't seen the pricing as yet. I won't know until I get back in the new year.

People have said they've been spotted, new bands and all, like a few comments above yours. Rob cleared it up now as well, they are coming.

I’ve been miserly hoarding my few remaining 2015s. Cinnamon and cedar bombs. I can’t bring myself to smoke any more until reinforcements arrive ?

Love the 50’s and 54’s. Put away some 2017’s for aging but smoke some from other boxes too. 

And I like the new bands and packaging. Have some of the previous stuff too, but the new bands lifts this into Montecristo/Hoyo/whatever marketing. It took guts to make a new 50/54 don’t you think, especially in today’s retail potential rules etc?

I think every market has its time in the sun. The plain embossed boxes of dunhill and davidoff were very European in direction and indeed worked much better as cigar boxes. Optimum in storage space and designed for aging. 

To me the current designs are trying to appeal to the Asian and American markets which seem to focus of showiness and gimmick.  I'm not denigrating it as I'm sure the first coloured box of Ramon Allones would of been seen as crass, back in the day. 

My baseline dislike for it is, that if someone is trying to sell me something with amplified visuals, my natural instinct is what's inside must be tough to push.

What's important is that they continue to get made and continue to be great cigars. And for those who enjoy the glitz, I am genuinely happy for them.

I've seen them being posted in social media for a couple months now. But none in stock yet. Yup with the new bands

Great points about bands and rings, and this discussion reminds me of probably the oldest Jewish Joke ever.

ahem...

Mrs. Goldstein and Mrs Plotnick are in the hairdryer section of the best beauty parlour in their neighbourhood. The best girls work on them and they like to share great gossip.

On this particular day, the ladies are giving Mrs Plotnick the BIG eye, and telling others to take a look too. Mrs Plotnick is enjoying the attention but knows to not take the big eye and turn it into an evil eye (spit on the side with your hand up in the air maybe and say, “puh!”).

Mrs Plotnick gets up some nerve and addresses the crowd, speaking loudly, over the hairdryer. 

“So I see you all like my big diamond ring I am wearing today, ladies!” The ladies agreed. “But with this ring, which I wear only on certain days and when the time is right, has some real problems I can tell you that.” She held up the hand in the air and that ring was huuuuuugeee.

The ladies, employees and even husbands became riveted.

This diamond ring is big, platinum, certified perfect and stunning. No question about that. (All agree). But with this ring comes the Plotnick Curse!

Good Lord strike me dead but tell us, what is THAT!!??

Putting the ring down after biting it, she yells, “MR PLOTNICK!”
