Good to see a loss of variety in here!

I've just got to echo a couple.

Lusitania 2011
Monte no.4 from 1970's
SP Belicosos

Really really good flavoursome smooth smokes.

Plenty other good smokes this year, but these were stand outs.

Monte no.4 from 1970's

I had a Monte no.4 from the 1960s for my birthday and I was totally expecting it to be bland but boy was I wrong. Had such elegant flavors and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Cheers!

We were discussing this. The newer resistant tobaccos started to be used around 2000. This is the black tobacco? Let's wait and see if the newer tobaccos age as well

But yes. Smooth but still flavoursome. This was the second such old cigar I've ever tried and both were similar in they were mellow, sweet, flavour was good.

For me there was one cigar that really stood out above the rest. After that, the rest of the top 10 were all in the same realm.

The 1980's Davidoff Chateaux Margaux pictured below is one of the top few cigars I've smoked. Period.

Smooth and elegant beyond belief, the retrohale was like silk, clean and almost imperceptible through the sinuses. Sweet, nutty, toasty, perfect draw and burn from tip to tail. Really the perfect cigar. As good as the cigar was, the settings only amplified it. 1st cigar of the day with breakfast and champagne with great friends next to the pool in Havana. It really doesn't get any better, a solid 100 points all around.

It took almost to the end, but can’t top the 2nd of the 4 Reynaldo Robustos that I had  in Cuba - this one on the balcony at the Casa on Christmas night with my better half and a case of Presidentes from the mercado down the street. In close 2nd would be the 1st Reynaldo Robusto that I had earlier in the day while walking through Habana Vieja and then to El Dandy in Plaza de Cristo for Cafe con Leche and a few mojitos. Hard to believe these beat out the Yolanda roll I had the night before. Some good leaf available for those great rollers right now!

Had a Punch Italian Regional from like '06 or '07?  Was a robusto or grand corona size cigar that was just out of this world.  That and an Epicure Reserva were just in another league.

Both were my stand out cigars of the year.
