Partagas Maduro Number 1 .......tidbit

Recommended Posts

Past experience shows that the taste of limited editions (LCDH and Habanos Specialist editions is released this way every year, Partagas Maduro no.1 - was Habanos Specialist Exclusive release) is always worse than the first release. For Partagas a good example is Salomones and Culebras. For the regular series, the success of the first limited release of the H.Upmann Magnum 50, became a regular one, and the taste became worse.

But in any case, we will try regular Maduro no.1, I hope this will be the exception to the rule

Did you know that the Partagas Maduro Number 1 was an LCDH release?

Well did you also know that it is now going to be regular production?

Well, then did you know that they have repriced it lower as it is now regular production?

Yes...it is the same cigar...same box and cigars.

So I asked yesterday if I could buy some of the new lower priced Partagas Maduro Number 1 as they were on the order sheet.

Nope.....only the "LCDH designated ones" are available and at the more expensive price.

Hang on....aren't they the same cigar?

"Yes"

You couldn't make this stuff up

Any idea when the cheap ones will be released...lol....of course that's after the more expensive ones are sold out....

But if they are the same cigar, in the same box, when will they know they ran out of the expensive ones....

Wow a real delema....

Well that instills confidence in all retailers of fine Habanos cigars worldwide doesn't it, El Pres? (Amongst many other things!)

....and they wonder why 20% of the stock sold by traditional Habanos retailers is now Non Cuban.

Morons.

To be fair I feel like the NC’s have vastly improved over the last 10 years and a few producers are doing excellent ageing/blending/quality control with the tobacco they have to work with

How come they don't have the LCDH band on them?

How come they don't have the LCDH band on them?

Because this is not LCDH, this is Habanos Specialist Exclusive release. A feature of the HSE releases is that cigars are allocated in that order according to the priority of the stores: LCDH, specialist Habanos, Habanos point...

PL Picadores also has no a second band. The cigars LCDH & HSE have a band with two logos29e5ff7926b15e8f48ff94cdc493c594.jpg

When the HSA gives confusing information, it's best to turn to Trevor's site:

Originally released as a Habanos Specialist Exclusive, in 2018 this was changed to general production.

To add perhaps - the new special band (Casa & Habanos Specialist exclusive) had been introduced first with the Punch-48. Earlier releases simply came without an additional special band (that's why the Maduro No.1 doesn't bear one, as still holds e.g. for the ConA as opposed to the B - perhaps we'll see double-banded ConAs as well in the future - but talk about logic and consistency...), with the exception of the very first one, the San Cristobal Torreon. Some jars of those (I think the earlier ones), came, perhaps erroneously, banded with the LCDH-band, yet others remained unbanded.

But these are/were all 'LCDH&HS' releases (complete list so far: Torreon, ConA, Picadores, Maduro1, Punch48, ConB, SCdLH Prado)
