My body can't tolerate most of full bodied NCs but I can smoke what is considered full bodied in the Cuban world any time of the day without worrying about getting sick.

Same here. I had a tiny Opus X (no4? idk) and it put me on my ass. Now I'm going to attempt to age them all to see if they calm down any

I'm the opposite now.  For a few months of sampling some great CCs from this site, I was convinced Cubans were the clear winner.  Now, I'm heading back to Nicaraguans.

Some of the Nicaraguan Maduros are absolutely astonishing.  I'm addicted to the Padron 1964 Maduro currently.  They are $13-16 a stick at my local shop, and after a few dozen I can honestly say every single one is perfection.  The draw, the taste, they are identical.  I never have to roll the dice on quality.  I'm slowly exploring some other Maduros that are good as well - Ashton, Perdomo, etc.

Since I don't have a huge stash of CCs built up and aging, the draw to Nicaraguan is big.  Padron is already aged 4 years and is ready to smoke the minute I walk out of the shop.

CC's are just so much better!

I'm doing some continuing education for my mortgage license and thought it'd be a good time to dig into my aging NC stock to help pass the time. Lit up a 2 year old My Father Lancero, and stopped smoking it 1/3 of the way through. WAY too much pepper, and the after taste was harsh (never get that on CC's). There was some nice rich flavor under the pepper, but my lord, just way too much. I lit up a monte 5 to compare side my side, and the monte blew it away..

The Garcia cigars are pretty strong and pretty peppier.  The Judge from My Father made me physically ill.  Insanely strong.  The 1922 was so-so.  Between MF, Don Pepin, and Jamie Garcia, my 2 favorites are properly the Cuban Classic from Don and the Especial Reserve from Jamie.  Even then, I'd rate them maybe 7-8/10.  There are much better ones out there for the price IMO.

To each his own....whatever you enjoy...

I have a preference towards CC, but there are some NC sticks, some that I've tried recently, that were good. There's also some CC that I wasn't a fan of

Opus need at least 5 years of rest.....more if you can wait that long.  I general smoke the larger Opus sizes, but smoked a #4 (from 2013) a few days ago for the first time in many years and it was fantastic.

I've smoked several Opus X #5 that tasted exactly like Cuban cigars. The other NC that tasted Cuban to me was the Joya De Nicaragua Cabinetta No 7. The Cabinnetta series been re-blended now and they l discontinued No.7. I've gotta "twang" from Camacho Diploma's too, but they are not consistent.
