The last couple of years one of the things I’ve gotten my dad for Christmas is a different coffee table book. Last year was probably the biggest hit with “A Man and His Watch” from @MIKA27 “Stuff” thread. Does anyone have a favorite they could reccomend? I’ve done watches and cigars in the past and was thinking cars or more specifically Mercedes this year?

Most of the large format books I have are art / photography. The large wine books I have are more for reference and less for leisure leafing. None seem applicable to what you're looking for, but I do enjoy them  :) (I know, big help...)

Call me childish, but I love coffee table books! The MRN Encyclopedia is my favorite thus far, but I love architecture, art, watches, cars, coffee, etc. I will have to check out the aforementioned watch book. Not totally related to cars or Mercedes, but here are some different ones you might have never thought of: https://www.themanual.com/culture/best-coffee-table-books-for-men/

Modern huntsman looks great in that list, I’ll definitely make a note of it

I've got a sick book on Dali that is on my table in the basement/cigar area of my house.

What's wrong with it, contagious?

Yes, I own it (The Big Lebowski: An Illustrated, Annotated History of the Greatest Cult Film of All Time by Jenny M.Jones), yes, people like reading it and yes, a number of you will now want to purchase it for your coffee table! ?

Really pulls the room together.

But that's, just like, my opinion, man.

Taschen is always an option.

I love their books.  I have a classic Versace one from the late 90's that is awesome along with a Starck; both great for a coffee tables.

A Mapplethorpe or Madonna's Sex book would be cheeky.  Depends the audience looking at the book.

Total State Machine.
It's a beautifully put together history using photos, interviews and essays of Test Dept. Obscure but important British industrial music collective and an enduring part of my life. There were only 250 copies of this made in hardback and I've got one of them. Weighs a bloody ton. aad02c15e9573f8e9ac98acf7d5c23f0.jpg
