On closer inspection, I think they're actually 2016's. My visual acuity has declined over the past couple of years. I can't find the factory code on any lists but the 8 sure looks like a 6 when I magnify it. Let me know if I'm incorrect and the 8 is indeed an 8. That is definitely a 6. All of the VR DA I have (from FOH) are BMP SEP 16.....although there is one box in my OLH listed as BMP SEP 18. Interesting...

nKostyan Posted November 24, 2018 Posted November 24, 2018 Did anyone see any decent stocks of Don Alejandro's in Havana?I ordered in early 2018 DA to my cigars hunter in Cuba, but never had them anywhere else so far not appeared in the sale. Back in early 2017, I had non-official information that DA is removed from production. But, the site, where they collect information about what Cigars are in Cuba, says that the DA was in stock at 03-25-18:http://yulcigars.blogspot.com/2017/12/cigar-price-list-for-cuba-2017-2018.html?m=1
Baccy Posted November 24, 2018 Posted November 24, 2018 It is truly amazing to get on CCW and look at how so many marcas have dwindled down to only 2-3 vitolas. Just look at brands like Quai D Orsay or Por Larranaga. A ton of stuff was axed back in the 80s and 90s, mainly machine made vitolas. Has anyone here tried many of the machine made Cubans? I was just wondering how they fare...

Also have a full box of La Corona Panatelas, same production dates--'89-'99. Have a couple singles of H.Upmann Kings as well, which were discontinued in 2002. Those are petit coronas. All of these are in cellophane. As soon as I get over this cold, I'll start trying some of these.

I used to smoke the La Coronas box after box. I still have some from 91 bouncing around here somewhere. I am also a Partagas Chicos fan. Sometimes they hit the spot. 10 to 15 minutes and you are done. Good flavor and reliable to taste like a cigar. Cheers! -Piggy 1

Seems like they are very much old school quintessential Cuban tobacco--very strong. Not sure if it's just me, but all the early 2000s and '90s cigars I've had or currently have, all have the same cold aroma. Hard to differentiate. Maybe it's just me.

Ritch Posted November 25, 2018 Posted November 25, 2018 Fight all you want. But just like Clubber Lang you lost the fight before stepping into the ring.

As in, they physically disappeared. But then they brought them back--seems like the only anomaly right? Smoked my first BCG recently--2016 box. Wow. Can't believe they are gone. So depressing. If anyone wants any, they have them at LCDH in Dubai, the one in JBR. I have Fonseca #1 from ENE 15 and JUL 17. Both purchased here.

I do still have all my toys though, safely stored in a safe which the Mrs chooses not to learn the code to Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I lived off of MM Partagas in the 90s. There's a reason they're hard to find, even at auction. Aristocratas, Super Partagas--loved them. Could pick them up for ~$45-50 a box from the LCDH back in the day. Can I just say that the fact that the RyJ Ex 3 is still around is mind-boggling considering what has been cut in the last 15 years. This is a cigar that no one I know smokes or is a fan of, has never really been good and is a vitola that HSA loves to cut. I don't believe Rob has ever even put them up--certainly not in the last few years. This might be the only cigar I've ever been supportive of HSA cutting, especially if it can improve the rest of the RyJ lineup. We would all love an improvement to the Short and Wide Churchills. But of course as we all learned when they cut the Punch SS2, Black Prince and RS11 and the Punch Punch went into the doldrums for a decade the remaining models don't always benefit from streamlining. Other than that cigar and maybe a couple of the small RyJ, Party and HU cigars I don't want to see anything more cut. 3
sw15825 Posted December 4, 2018 Posted December 4, 2018 I'm a Corona Gorda lover and almost cried smoking my last RS 11. SLR A.

Or if I had, prob got them mixed up with Ex 4s. Who knows
