teewinot Posted October 25, 2018 Posted October 25, 2018 I did something stupid. I just bought a 600ct Waxing Moon humidor. Too good to pass up. I've been eyeing Ed's work for years. My current stock is in the 150-200 count range and I know humidors are more efficient full. What bargains (cheep and cheer full) or other do you suggest.? Holidays are coming..do my kids need presents?
encephalization Posted October 25, 2018 Posted October 25, 2018 * PLPCs would be on my list. They've been on 24:24 recently for under $250 for a 50 cab. Good morning cigar with age. * Partagas Shorts, similar price to the PLPC if not lower, consistent in flavor. Works as a second cigar if needed. * HUHC, solid cigar that becomes great after 3-4 years. Also under $5 a stick. 1

MD Puffer Posted October 25, 2018 Posted October 25, 2018 You can also fill space with Spanish Cedar pen blanks or other blocks of Spanish Cedar. They take up space and act as a humidity reservoir. And you can use them as dividers so your singles don't commingle. And if you ever retire and start making pens as a hobby you'll have one foot in the pool already.
rguinn Posted October 25, 2018 Posted October 25, 2018 Cohiba Shorts are still on yesterday’s 24:24. Great cigarillo at a reasonable price.

teewinot Posted October 25, 2018 Author Posted October 25, 2018 Thank you one and all, keep 'em coming. And thank you Prez...where does one find Robusto seconds?

I’ve got about eight boxes of them from getting drunk on my couch and then logging in to check out the 24:24 offerings. This year has brought lots of clearance Hoyo Epi 2, Juan Lopez 2, CoRo, and Partagas E2.
teewinot Posted October 25, 2018 Author Posted October 25, 2018 Oh yes...I'm not that bright. I haven't jumped on the 24:24 clearance day yet. Great idea..thank you!

joshhooper7 Posted October 25, 2018 Posted October 25, 2018 My honest recommendation? Leave the space open. If you're new to FOH and 24:24, you'll surely be able to fill the gap with time. Best of luck! 2 1
BrightonCorgi Posted October 25, 2018 Posted October 25, 2018 Smaller cigars take up less room. Are smaller cigars less expensive per gram?

You have to ask yourself couple questions to make best decision. how often and how much time you have to smoke? Do you want something to smoke now or do you want lay them down awhile? Another thing to keep in mind is it may be a “600 ct” humidor but in reality it’ll hold closer to 500.

My initial thought as well - a humidor for the cigars, not cigars to fit the humidor. Empty SLB, or similar, gradually accrue cigars you actually want.
ErikB72 Posted October 25, 2018 Posted October 25, 2018 Punch Coronations , Upmann Corona Major - big boxes
teewinot Posted October 26, 2018 Author Posted October 26, 2018 So mad I just missed Monte Media Corona on 24
Hammer Smokin' Posted October 26, 2018 Posted October 26, 2018 that was a good'en. 3.5 year old at deep discount - $137. might be the best purchase I've made on 24:24 so far

Oh yeah and they're pretty friggin good too. PL Montecarlo's are a no brainer. Ask around! I'm currently smoking a Party Short. RASCC HUPC - if you can still find them. If not the Regalías will do just fine. HUHC RGPC RG Perlas All great value IMO Happy shopping! 1

M777 Posted October 26, 2018 Posted October 26, 2018 I would honestly wait it out and fill it slowly (it won’t take long trust me), unless you enjoy the cheap and cheerful sticks (sub $3 sticks is my definition). I always keep a few boxes of jose l piedra and Quintero for situations when I can’t sit down with a nice pour or beer and fully appreciate a nicer smoke. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
