Anyone ever been?  Looks nice.

I’m in DC on business (solo) until Sat morning and will probably be done “kind of” early Friday.  Since Friday is also my birthday, I was thinking about stopping by.

 Is it worth checking out?

I’ve seen pictures and it does look very nice.  I have not visited yet though. My usual spot is WC Drapers right across from the Old Ebbitt Grill. Amazing selection of Tatuaje cigars, if you like them.

I enjoy the burgers at Shelly's.  If you are going early you should have no problem getting a club chair.  The place is quite comfy but it can get very crowded.  The times I went the ventilation wasn't the greatest so be prepared to smell like an ash tray when you leave.  There are a few spots out front (maybe 8 or so chairs/tables) but this is definitely the wrong time of year to be outside in DC in the late afternoon.  If you buy from Shelly's they have a pretty stiff mark-up so bring you own if you have them on this trip.

Was there a few years ago - food was decent - not a fan of indoor smoking so I’d find another spot if you’re of the same mind. Prices are high on the sticks as well. Have fun regardless.

i did find a bar someplace that allowed smoking outside on the roof - can’t remember the name...

Shelly’s is ok. Decent food.

If you like whisk(e)y Jack Rose is a must go. It is a Mecca of the water of life. Also cigar friendly on the top floor. Serves food too but I’ve never had.

I think you’re thinking Boubon? They are half a block from Jack Rose and have a cigar friendly rooftop.

Been there many times but not recently.  Burgers are good.  Nice place if not crowded. If you have time drop by Drapers at 15th & G Sts NW!  Great place and peeps.  :2thumbs:

Shelley's is nice because you can bring your own cigars, but Draper's around the corner is a better place to meet and talk to people.  I will also suggest Civil Cigar Lounge as a great place for a late night cigar and drinks.  I plan on stopping at all three when we are back in DC in two weeks.

TwoNineteen Restaurant in Old Town Alexandria is also a nice place to smoke a cigar and have a drink. Food is just okay, but the upstairs bar is a godsend in the summer when it’s too hot to smoke outside, and there’s generally street parking.

Shelly's is solid, but I would suggest the covered patio at Morton's off of Connecticut Avenue unless you really want a cigar bar feel.  Much better food, quieter, and cleaner.

+1 for Jack Rose - Cigar friendly roof and food is above average. If you're a whiskey fan, it's one of the largest selections in the world. Good vibes.

I think Jack Rose it is.  Food looks decent, I don't want to smell like an ashtray, and it is the perfect distance for a robust walk from where I am.

Should get there around 8; hopefully it will not be too packed.

I love Shelley’s but I’m closer to the Tinderbox in Waldorf. I guess I’ll take what I can get, unless I’m smoking on the backyard patio.

TG Cigar. Lots of beer and Liquor. Outside seating. Good NC selection. Not sure about bringing your own cigars.

Wish i had seen this thread earlier. Shelley’s sucked, IMO.

T G cigars was great. Really friendly customers and employees. Very welcoming environment, in contrast to the exclusionary hoity toity vibes at shelley’s.

Basic rule applies. If you wanna bring/smoke your own cigars, just be a good customer and spend some money.

T G is great. I wish i had discovered it more than 2 weeks before leaving dc, lol.
