Just landed in the Big Easy. Thank the Maker the Westin in Canal Place knows the 2 key things about a hotel. I don't care that there is a gym, business centre, kids playground, fantastic bar or any of the crap. The 2 key things are: a comfortable bed, and a good shower! What is with US hotels that put in a crappy shower head (and I'm not talking about cheap hotels, yes I'm looking at you DoubleTree by Hilton and Sheraton!) that sprays in 30 different directions, but not onto to you, or has such poor flow, you might as well grab a bucket?!

A good shower is vital in restoring you back to sanity, after having an extremely crappy flight.

You can thank our never ending quest to save the planet. Those shower heads you described are “low flow”, I dont understand how halving the flow rate helps if it takes me 3 times as long to shower all the soap off. But what do I know.

We have low flow toilets too, so pinch if you feel a big one coming. Calling hotel maintenance up the room to deal with a blockage is never fun.

Are you staying at the Westin right by the Harrahs?

Thanks guys for the Monterey Bay tip. Will put it on the list. Hardly anything shocks me. One of my first jobs out of high school was as a "Purveyor of Perversion". It has been a long time sin

.....they work well for normal sized people

I had considered San Diego, but Comic-Con is over!

The casino? It is one block behind my hotel. I overlook the river and can see the Natchez paddlewheel steamboat from where I'm staying. Actually have a pretty good view of the river and French Quarter.
