If I'm feeling generous: Partagas Short/Aristo/PCE/Super Partagas or Upmann HC

Normally: La Flor de Cano - Petit Corona or RG Perla

Groups of 3+: Quintero, JLP, or NC.

Quintero/JLP if I think you're gonna puff it twice and set it down.

If we're good friends I'll offer anything regular production.

If we're really good friends, you can take your pick or share mine.:P

Well they're NOT my Cubans, I can tell you that...

If you are an experienced cigar smoker I'll share lots of good stuff but if you're a novice I tend to not give away stuff that won't be appreciated. Non smokers get cigars that people have given me and cigars that aren't floating my boat.

I have a few vegueros for people who want a cigar but aren’t really into it. For people who smoke cigars I would just give them what I am having.

I've given away multiple great cigars to the infrequent smoker, who then don't enjoy it (at least not as much as I'd expect).  Sometimes I think I should have given them something lighter in body.  I want them to have that great Cuban experience, but it lands flat. And in that case, I wish I'd rather have given them something cheap.

Fellow CC smokers get the keys to the humidor; novices receive something from the humidor.

HUHC are perfect for this. Chunky, sweet tasting and not too long a smoke for the inexperienced.

It all depends on the guest. Only my brother-in-law has his pick of anything I have, both cigars and whiskey. Someone in the know will be smoking what I am smoking. If the person has proven they can't tell the difference between a CC and Swisher (my father-in-law), I give them some cheap NC with a fancy band. Fancy bands make people think its special and the more bands the better for that.

I usually go with HU Conn As and HdM Epicure 2s.

To an inexperienced smoker I’ll typically offer a Monte 4 or 5. I usually have plenty on hand and they aren’t overly strong or expensive. They are also what I consider to be a benchmark Cuban cigar. I can think of two friends in particular that never cared much for cigars who are now devout brothers of the leaf after a great Monte experience.

An experienced smoker can kiss my ass, they should have known better and come with their own cigar... Only kidding, I’ll let them pick whatever they want but next time they best come prepared or there will not be another next time!

PLPC, because they're inexpensive, always have plenty and they're always good...

RyJ Coronitas en Cedros is one I'll take a handful of to a poker game. Well known brand and they go over pretty well with the casual smokers that want a Cuban.

I've had some that were particularly aromatic to the point a cold draw elicits "why even light this, it tastes so good already". Not always the case though :(

If they're educated smokers then fair game.

Usually Partagas Shorts, Monte No.4s, or Bolivar PCs. Depending on the situation I may give out Monte No. 2s or PDS4s. If it’s someone who is a regular cigar smoker than my cooler is open for them to pick from minus a couple things that I bought one or two of ( 2010 Behikes, 07 & 08 ED 109s, aged Cohibas, etc).

i will no longer give out Cohibas to large groups of new smokers - throwing out 7-8 half smoked Siglo IIs one morning resulted in that rule.

Its audeince dependant for me too. I recently brought about 30 JLP Cazadores to a bachelor party and was showered with compliments. A cuban? From 2011? Your the man! Haha

There are certain people I smoke with that get the run of the Humi though. What bugs me, and my dad does it all the time. Is when someone grabs a nice big cigar like a mag 50 or DC, then smokes half of it.

PL Pantelas for those with little to no experience. They get to smoke a mild Cuban with the classic twang and it doesn’t bother me if they pitch it after 2 puffs.

More experienced smokers get what I’m smoking or their pick of regular production.

Monte 4 or a Vegueros.

Good cigars only to those who I know will appreciate them.  I am sick and bloody tired of handing good smokes to people who will chew on them, ditch them half-smoked and otherwise disrespect them.
