We just put in a new aluminum dock at our northern WI lake home. Looks like good water for fishing wherever you are located!

Nice!  Ours is in Northern MI.  Fishing isn't bad - kids can get perch and bass off the dock.   Decent walleye fishing with the occasional pike.  Great steal head fishing here and the surrounding river ways.

Enjoy the new dock & have a happy 4th! 🥂

Great wedding weekend! My dad turns 90 in July, my mum 85 this year. They danced away until closing time.  Ben and Hattie were magnificent. My youngest Brother Rick (left) went "to town

Had a good fall steelhead trip recently. Went 13 for 13 on steelhead in 2 and a half days. Excellent weather! The young angler James was successful as well!

Went to Cuba, smoked good cigars, ate good food, saw cool stuff.

When I lived in Chicago I knew some folks that had summer homes on Walloon. I'm sure you are aware Ernest Hemingway's family had a cottage there and he.spent time in his early years fishing and hunting that area.

It’s been an amazing 10 days. Cannes, Nice, Monte Carlo, Eze, Cap Ferrat, and St Tropez.

Which Nikki Beach Club is that? I went to the one in Dubai and it was pretty hip and a great beach too.

That one is in St Tropez.  We have been to 5 or 6 of them around the world and we always have a great time.

You just have to know the deal before you go or else you might feel like you got ripped off.  As long as you know they are going to overcharge you for everything, and you are fine with it, it's a great experience.  I look at it as I'm not paying extra for the drinks and food, but I'm paying for an unforgettable day, that happens to come with great drinks and food.

We met up with a friend of a long lunch and I did not think the prices were out of line compared to going out in Boston.

The people watching at an European beach club is worth the price of entry alone. My wife hates that scene. I, however, love it! Hula Hula in Hvar migth be my favorite.

Yes, if you go to the restaurant, the prices are fine. It's when you get a day bed at the club that the prices go a little nuts.

But even that differs from club to club. For example, the one in Montenegro required you to buy a $30 bottle of champaign for $250 to get a bed. The one at St Tropez requires you to buy a $30 bottle of champaign for $650 to get a bed. And the alcohol and food that you order at the bed is inflated over the price you would pay in the restaurant. But as I said, if you go with the mindset that you are paying for an amazing time instead of the food/drinks, it's all good.

The week before, we went to a Nikki Beach owned club in Cannes, called Lucia, and that was only a straight $150 a person, with no minimum.  So it differs depending on the location.
