Popular Post joeypots Posted February 22 Popular Post Posted February 22 Two weeks in Colorado. One in aspen with three friends, one at Steamboat with a large club group. I love skiing but two weeks with ten days on the slopes, especially with this gang, is exhausting. Lots of fresh snow at steamboat made for fantastic tree skiing. And I got covid on about day 9. Cigars? One MC#4: none of these guys smoke. It’s great to get away and great to get home. 14

Popular Post Bill Hayes Posted March 1 Popular Post Posted March 1 Went to the horse races with mates last Saturday for a big group 1 race day at Caulfied. Tomorrow, we are off to Headquarters, Flemington (the home of the Melbourne Cup), to see a horse we have a small share in run in a $1million race. He's a rank outsider but who cares - free entry, food and drinks in the members with mates. You never know! Cheers 11
Popular Post Bill Hayes Posted March 4 Popular Post Posted March 4 Saturday, what a great day out with mates at the races to see our horse run at Flemington. He ran super down the straight in a 20 horse race, in a fast finishing 6th place - which means we collect $20,000 prize money. He looks like he might just be a very good race horse, and we think even better as a 4yo next year. Maybe pushing out to 1400m from 1200m. He's also good in the wet. Flemington is now quite a facility with the new members stand and roof top bar. I looked like a bit of a tool but had to wear the silk colours - blue and pink. Ha ha! Cheers, onto the next race in about 3 weeks or so. Needs some water work and time in paddock - just like me! 9
Popular Post riderpride Posted March 19 Popular Post Posted March 19 Daughter made WKC Team Alberta in 2 divisions this weekend. 2 silvers and missed a bronze on a missed call. Oh well. Nationals in May and she's already made Team Canada in WKU. We may have to choose between Worlds in either Rhodes Greece, or Albufeira Portugal. Likely to go broke no matter what, but she's worth it. Cheers! Edit - sorry the pics are posted in the order of 2, 1, 3 12
MagicalBikeRide Posted March 19 Posted March 19 What a great way to get skint. Memories to last a lifetime. Portugal and Greece are both super places. 1
Popular Post GVan Posted March 22 Popular Post Posted March 22 Youngest niece married in Northern Florida - she wanted a "Barn Wedding". Great affair and managed to get the whole family to show up with all seven grandchildren. Broke out the dress stetson and cowboy boots for the wedding. Not really much of a call in Florida for the boots or hat but it was a lot of fun! 12
Popular Post SigmundChurchill Posted March 22 Popular Post Posted March 22 My 14 year old daughter asked me to take her to see Zach Bryan. Not being a country music fan, I had no idea who he was. Nor did I realize I was raising a Jewish, NJ cowgirl, but I guess stranger things have happened. Anyway, like any supportive father, I took her to the concert and we both had an amazing time. The thing that shocked me the most is that I was the oldest person there. It was full of teenagers and twenty-somethings. I guess I figured country music would draw a lot of older people, but it seems like this is the "in thing" with the young whipper snappers. 13
Popular Post SokaKiel Posted March 23 Popular Post Posted March 23 The highs and lows of a boat show in Florida. Thursday loads of sunshine and good business, today only rain and no clients at all! Found a great lounge in Palm Beach though, Churchill Cigar Company. Highly recommended if you’ll find yourself here! 15
Popular Post Hemclas Posted March 24 Popular Post Posted March 24 North Fork River in Missouri. We had a guide for this trip. Having someone net fish, untangle lines and row the boat up river to get us in the right spot is the way to go! We both caught a fish at the same time, that's Brian our guide holding my friends little trout. 14

Popular Post SigmundChurchill Posted April 1 Popular Post Posted April 1 I took my wife to lunch in the city today, and then a Broadway play. We saw 'An Enemy of The People' with Michael Imperioli and Jeremy Strong. I, being a big Succession fan, and an even bigger Sopranos fan, really wanted to see this, while my wife went reluctantly. In the end, we both loved it. Perhaps her, even a little more than me. 13
Popular Post Bill Hayes Posted April 11 Popular Post Posted April 11 I thought I'd introduce a few mates to the delights of the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne with a Feast on the East lunch, local football watching and punting on the ponies and AFL at the local pub. Was a hoot! Thought you'd all get a laugh at suburbia in my hometown - where they filmed the TV show Neighbours with Kylie Minogue, good old Nunawading. Cheers 9
