Popular Post Capn_Jackson Posted November 27, 2022 Popular Post Posted November 27, 2022 A great Thanksgiving with turkey and a smoked ham, nice little Boli cigar, and a rare date night while grandma and grandpa watched the kiddos. Went to one of our favorite Fort Worth restaurants last night, in downtown, called Reata. I heavily advise you visit Reata if you come through town! 16
Popular Post Connoisseur Kim Posted November 28, 2022 Popular Post Posted November 28, 2022 At last, I received an El Habano Moderno Cigar Vitola Poster today after a long wait (had to get a replacement since 1st one was severely damaged). It was a massive and gorgeous looking 1:1 scaled cigar vitola poster with excellent paper quality indeed. Can't wait to put it into a classy frame and display this wonderful poster on my room's wall soon 👍 21
Popular Post MrBirdman Posted November 28, 2022 Popular Post Posted November 28, 2022 Enjoyed a lovely Davidoff 2014 Art Edition (still with life) and then a huge meal with the family. No keto that day! When the Thanksgiving turkey is flavorful and juicy, it’s hard to go wrong. 16
Popular Post Chucko8 Posted November 29, 2022 Popular Post Posted November 29, 2022 Got a bit wet at times over the weekend for cigars. Was ok for a beer in the clouds on the balcony one evening though 16
Popular Post Wailbait Posted November 29, 2022 Popular Post Posted November 29, 2022 I actually thought I did post this on the day of but I guess the internet was wonky on Cape Cod. Anyway, went to visit the in-laws and was tasked to make a turkey. This post is mostly just a PSA to say that when you spatchcock the bird, not only does it cook in 85 minutes (as opposed to 4 hours) but you get really great results even in an oven you aren’t familiar with. So, short moral, pull the backbone out, salt for 48 hours, throw some herbs under the skin (including the thigh and drumstick), roast and pull when breast is 147 degrees. I think the reason that people associate white meat with being dry is because they pull at 165. I was happy. I am grateful for health, family, and friends. oh I have no cigar to speak of because I am a California wimp and the idea of a cigar outside at 35 degrees gives me the willies. 13
Popular Post 01Vert Posted November 29, 2022 Popular Post Posted November 29, 2022 Strange way to spend a holiday but we had family working on Thanksgiving so ours was celebrated on Saturday. I continued to tear out the floor and tub in the bathroom and rebuilt the wall to include a niche (non load bearing wall) and rock wool insulation. FYI the small spaces where the rock wool doesn’t completely fit were filled including above the niche. This is a work in progress pic. Tasted (and wore) lot of joint compound dust after rebuilding several areas that had to be removed for plumbing and tile work. Best pic I have of some of the work. Today the radiant floor and shower walls were installed. 11
Popular Post Jackdani7401 Posted November 29, 2022 Popular Post Posted November 29, 2022 Very thankful for this little butter ball as well as this lady….the dog too😂😂 had a few different CC’s over the weekend, but no pictures. I’m finding a new love for the corona gorda and while the Mag46 is top of the list the JL1 and Punch Punch are not far behind. 20
Popular Post rolaand Posted November 29, 2022 Popular Post Posted November 29, 2022 Glad to be able to spend time with family and friends over the holidays. Unfortunately no cigars but I’ll make up for it this week. 15

Having celebrating Thanksgiving with Mayflower decedents and growing up 35 miles from Plymouth Rock, I too break the turkey up before cooking. I quarter it and and remove the thigh bones before cooking. The spine, wings, and bones are used for stock the night before. 9
