fitzy
Having smoked my first Por Larranaga Montecarlo (which I loved), I'm curious as to what other affordable long and skinny cigars I should be trying. I know everyone's idea of affordable is different but lets keep it under $250 a box. I can't wait to see how that caramel/buttered popcorn taste changes as they get some time down. Not sure if this should have been in the cheap and cheerful section as that price range isn't exactly cheap but what I consider affordable.
kwsaw63
Not many long & skinnies left, let alone affordable ones. The other 2 that come to mind are the La Gloria Cubans Medaille D’Or No.4 and the Hoyo du Gourmet.

Hmm It's pretty limited to the Por Larranaga Montecarlo, and the LGCMDO No 4...sadly. I would just stock up on both if I were you, They'll soon be gone Other than that, maybe get yourself in the Trade section and see if you can get anyone to part with some Quai D'Orsay Panatelas, Monte Especials/Especials No2

Right off the bat I would recommend the Montecristo Especiales No. 2 - Palma - 5 8/9" x 38 (152mm x 15.1mm), they are close to or a little over your $250 mark.
fitzy
Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I'll definitely be stocking up. @Philc2001 The last two times they came up on the 24:24 listings I almost pulled the trigger. I'm definitely going to have to do that next time I see them. Also thanks for the list of other skinny cigars.

My box of montecarlos are arriving today, wish I didn't have to lay them down, I'm excited to try them, also sitting on pins and needles waiting for a box of funadores to acclimate. I've only tried the coloniales in the past.Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

I need to get some more PLMC myself. If you appreciate non-Cubans, you may find more luck there as lanceros and panatelas have been getting back into style. There are lots of lanceros, but even in Panties (think that will catch on?), you've got the Tatuaje Black Label petit lancero was CA's cigar of the week, and has been a good smoke for a long time. It's a 6 x 38. Roma Craft makes a couple of 5.5 x 37 versions of their CroMagnon blends. Illusione came out with a Ninfa (but it's actually more along the lines of a PLMC in size). All of those are well below $250/
fitzy
Yeah I smoke a few NC petit lancero's like the Oliva serie V and a few others. Yup it's a shame they feel the need to discontinue the skinny's.
Puros Y Vino
These "long and skinnies" should fit the bill for your criteria of <$250USD (Cuba prices) RyJ Cazadores Fonseca #1 HdM Du Gourment Montecristo Especial No 2 Montecristo No 1 Partagas 898 JLP Cazadores I used this search on CCW. fitzy
Thanks for the info. I've got a 1/4 box of RyJ Cazadores from a 24:24 order that I got in last week. I'm hoping to smoke them in 2 months when they are done acclimating. I'd love to get some Partagas 898 but outside of Cuba they are around $300. When I get to Cuba they are on my list of cigars to buy along with Sir Winston and Fundadores.
SloppyJ
Out of the one's I've had here is how I rank them: Fonseca RyJ Cazzie PLMC LGC MdO#4 Kind of off topic, but the only LGC I have had is the #4 that I picked off of a box pass. It had a really nice dark wrapper. In hindsight, dark wrappers on these sticks might not be desirable for me. However, it tasted like potpourri which I found to be awful. Are they all like that? Haven't seen a box around for at least a couple of years. Hoyo du Prince was cut last year.
