Personally, I think it is inevitable for this to happen, and when it does two things will result. First, the food industry will fight this tooth and nail and perhaps, just perhaps, it will result in a positive ruling. Second, regardless if the above happens or not, people will just start to not pay attention to these warnings any more since the nanny state and SJW have essentially deluded the impact. If they start appearing on everything, who's really going to care anymore. (The boy who cried wolf situation.) I feel like this is already starting to happen with cancer warnings on products. CA recently made it law that coffee manufactures need to put cancer warnings on bags of coffee. It turns our roasting coffee beans naturally produces a carcinogen, but the amount is so low the effects are negligent. This did not stop the "Council for Education and Research on Toxins" from suing the coffee companies on behalf of the citizens. Now, assuming the appeals process does not favor the coffee companies, we are going to see cancer warnings on bags of coffee.
WABOOM
I agree wholeheartedly on a previous post about the loss of tradition and art. I love the nostalgia of packaging. Also, I generally hate "nanny state" regulation. Someday they will require pictures of broken bones on cars.
99call
I wonder if HSA argued the DOP/Appellation Controllee protection they could make parallels in the ridiculousness of the motion. i.e take a look at this leg of Spanish Ham. If HSA argued that cured or smoked ham is also cancerous, and they should be banned from having nice packaging, that a level of common sense would prevail

Tollickd
I know it should not affect me but the packaging is a part of the cigars I buy! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk No, this is actually incorrect, packaging should 100% effect you, because it's nice and pleasing. We should maintain the right to be treated like adults. Adults can differentiate between what is nice and doesn't give us cancer, and what is nice and does give us cancer. We already pay the tax that is supposed to pay for our health need offset, so WTF

Box codes completely covered too. I have encountered some of these terrible stickers from regionals and some LCDH exclusives. My solution was to purchase black stickers to cover the images. Obviously, I would prefer a nice safe way to remove stickers altogether, but they tend to use very good adhesive.

That’s a shame the great work the companies do with package design and governments do that Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
IronW
The box and bands are part of the enjoyment of cigars, I know I'm not smoking them but it's just pleasing to the eye. All the ornate boxes stacked in the humidor is a great sight. Not to mention it makes it easier to identify which stick is which. Just another overreach of the nanny state. Where will it end?
