I'll be watching my grass grow or paint dry.

I’ve no interest partaking in my own wedding let alone somebody else’s.

i am presenting a champers class at noosa - krug, cristal, dom and la grand dame - in case anyone is in the vicinity).

Man, I wish I was in Australia so I could come to your Champagne class. Wedding?? Who's getting married?

Economically it is a great idea

Personally, and in the UK, I couldn't care less. I wish them both well and God knows it sounds like they have both had a lot of trouble growing up so hopefully they both find a bit of companionship and love. The Windsors are a funny lot but they close ranks around each other when needed, it sounds like Megan could do with some of that after what's been plastered over the papers for the last month.

But in terms of a spectacle it's a bit of a 'meh' for me; William's I saw as it was something historic in the line of succession but this is just a family event.

The homeless issue is nothing new, this may simply be highlighting it for those who walk by and don't notice, but successive governments couldn't give a toss about those who fall through the net, and the current one actively works to push those on the edge through the net. A wedding won't change any governmental policy, and blame should be aimed at politicians and councils not a couple getting married.

I'll be busy painting tomorrow anyway :D

Such is my interest in the Royal Wedding that myself and 3 friends have driven to Germany to drive the Nürburgring. Impending, certain death is preferable. ?

sorry, it had to be asked. and yes, i know that there will be different views on this but i'm keen to know will anyone be watching the 'Royal Weeding'.

and if the phrase, 'royal weeding' seems wrong, you have not been keeping up with your kenfessions https://kenfessions.com/2017/12/05/montecristo-no-2-2006-2016-four-pillars-christmas-gin/

so, you will have a fair idea of my thoughts. yes, i would prefer the gentle caress of death's icy fingers than have to sit through that giant borefest (which means that it is fortunate that i am presenting a champers class at noosa - krug, cristal, dom and la grand dame - in case anyone is in the vicinity).

With the wife being Irish we are rather anti-monarchist in our family. But with two young daughters the whole princess fest is difficult to keep on the low down.

More notice and I would have definitely driven up for the champers class.

Are they getting the Duke of Windsor’s old digs in France as a wedding gift?

Yes it is a cheap and crass crack in the attempt at humor, and I will apologize up front for poor taste. As thedame007 makes the point, at the end of the day it’s two people getting married and I wish them the best of luck.  Like most folks who aren’t family or friends of the couple, I’m no really concerned.

P.S.  Loved your article Ken, gave me a good laugh!

Clearly.

Penny dropped. I didn’t even look at the program until just now.

Great weather for it.

I made the mistake of falling asleep the night before with the TV left on. I had consumed a few burbons with my buddies and smoked cigars until late hours. Needless to say I was dog tired. Sometime around 5-6 am I heard this horrible rendition of an old southern hymn Amen Amen or something like that. I was half asleep half dreaming half hung over and I could not figure what the hell was going on. Finally I got up and realized that Fox Nees was carrying that horrible wedding. I watched for maybe 3 minutes appalled at the waste of money resources and time that I was witnessing. Then I could not get back to sleep. As for me I would rather than have 10 root canals than watch 10 more minutes of that garbage. Robbed of my Weekend sleeping in. Royal wedding be damned

As a Redskin fan I can understand your reluctance to celebrating the nuptials of a division rival and Super Bowl winning quarterback.  Though you must admit the guy is having a pretty good year.

I wish I could have watched the Bishop give his talk. I saw part of a re-run and it was fantastic! He is right, if love ruled the world we would in a much better worldwide situation.

It was quite a calibration of diversity.

I’ll admit it ... I watched the wedding.

My mother-in-law and my wife watched a recording of it in our living room last night.  I told the true story about how I peed underneath St. George’s Chapel back in 2008 on a trip to Windsor.  I had heard It was where Prince Charles and Camilla got married, so I couldn’t pass up a chance to relieve myself in an old restroom in the basement beneath the altar.

I then repeated the story no less than a dozen times during the ceremony.

”I bet where Megan is right now, is where I peed.”

”I peed there, you know. Do you think if I farted they would have been able to hear me?

”I bet you can hear the choir sing from the basement pisser.”

Basically any time the mood got romantic, I would crash it with a reference to my having peed mere steps from where they were getting married.

I don’t understand the love affair with the monarchy.  Good people died to get away from that.  And here we are, some 250 years later, obsessed with every detail of a multi-million dollar royal wedding.  Nuts.

Speaking of nuts, did I mention I peed underneath St. George’s Chapel?

I was sinking pints of Guinness in Vegas while watching the goings on around 3am local time. Even got to enjoy a cigar during the event!
