Evening all I am new here so hope that this new topic is ok? Had some hostile welcome on another forum!

Ok here in Cyprus they are selling the Cohiba Talisman EL 17 box of 10 but for only only about 100 EUR more I can get a box of 25 Siglo VI? Can anyone advise and I am new to the EL editions and not really sure what they are all about!

Thanks in advance

Welcome, aboard.

Dont worry. Here you will make friends, not enemies.

I would buy siglos. If you want to sell/trade buy Talismans.

PS: It's not allowed to post prices in the forum besides few exceptions.

Hi thank you! I have edited it a little now showing prices that the amount between the two hope that’s ok!

Maybe best but one of the Talismans to see first

If you want something that tastes like a Cohiba, buy the Siglo VI’s.

If you want something that has a different flavor, buy the Talismans.

Dont buy the Talismans expecting them to be some sort of better version of a Cohiba, because that is not what they are, but they are fantastic cigars in their own right.

I'd go siglo 6 all day long. Talismans might be a good investment if you want to flip them but if you want some great smokes over the years to come the siglo 6 will not fail you.

Gotta go with the crowd on this.. If given the only 2 options presented, it'd _not_ be the Talisman.

Siglo VI. Partly because I would prefer Habanos to stop putting effort into sixty plus $$ cigars to the detriment of good 10$ cigars. The VIs are too expensive as is, I think. They are pretty damn good though......

And, BTW, smoking the VIs at less than five year mark seems a waste to me. But that's just me.

I have some Talismans on the way, but, if I had to choose between the 2, I'd go with the sixers.

Ok I am a relative newbie to EL editions do they only make a defined amount so when they are gone they are gone? Maybe the best option is buy a single Talisman!

Fairly new to LE’s myself, but yes, this is my understanding - once they’re gone, they’re gone....or in the hands of flippers.

I’m also in the Siglo VI camp. 4yo Siglo VI vs Talisman? No brainer, as long as you trust the vendor to have had the box stored properly.

It’s the local LCDH and all the cigars I have purchased are all in perfect condition all with a nice little bit of plume :)!

SiGLO VI 25 of course, were talking almost triple price diff here.

Yes we are very lucky here very good prices and as they don’t have a huge turn over of stock most expect the new releases are old date boxes and I am friendly with the girl in the shop she lets me looks at all the box dates :D

Cohiba Siglo VI has been hard to source lately. I'd think that if it went up on 24:24 this week, hypothetically, the boxes would sell out in under 5 seconds! ^_^ ;)

I’d like to see that feeding frenzy. ?

I’ve nailed my colours to the mast on this before, but, for what it’s worth, 25 Siglo VI for 100 EUR less than 10 Talisman is a no-brainer.

If you're new and still building your collection I'd get the Siglo VI's.  Personally I've got half a dozen boxes of the Talisman, and they are outstanding cigars, but at this price point you can't stock an entire cellar with them.  Siglo VI is a solid, reliable stick and I'd fill up on those first before venturing out for the more esoteric rarities.

Mini review: The boys and I smoked one box of the Talismans and they truly are spectacular, but youth showed up in the final third and the flavors are all there but not well displayed yet. The other boxes are going for a bit of a nap and I won't revisit them for 4 or 5 years.  Definitely a splurge, but no one will be disappointed in the cigar.
