Ken Gargett Posted April 25, 2018 Posted April 25, 2018 i see the latest in the marvel franchise arrives today. not even sure of the name. came across this which i thought might be of interest. - http://mentalfloss.com/article/541194/20-marvel-cinematic-universe-movie-locations-you-can-visit-real-life question for fans - which is the pick of the movies? which are the duds? i ask, as a bit of a fan, but i confess i have not seen them all. enjoyed iron man, avengers, the first guardians. a few others. another point, read a long article in the NYT about how this and the next avengers, which were shot together, are the end of the series. that struck me as insane. it has been so successful, why not suck more blood while you can? but it did finish by saying that there would be more movies with these and other characters. and apparently some weird changes (these may have already happened but they were in the news so hardly spoilers if not) - bucky becomes capt america and natalie portman becomes thor? seriously? i like ms portman as much as the next bloke but as thor?
ayepatz Posted April 25, 2018 Posted April 25, 2018 Winners - Iron Man, Avengers Assemble, new Spider-Man, Ant-Man, Thor Ragnarok. Losers - most of the first sequels - Iron Man 2, Thor Dark World, Captain America The Winter Soldier, Avengers Age of Ultron.
Jimmy_jack Posted April 25, 2018 Posted April 25, 2018 They must end. For the love of all that is good and holy. May sons love them. At this point it’s more of a limited release series than individual movies.

Don't forget that the MCU also includes the TV series; Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Daredevil, Runaways, and the newest series Cloak & Dagger. Avengers: Infinity Gaunlet is the last film in the MCU's Phase 3 of films.

Hi Ken. Some information about the female God Of Thunder. Many people mistaken this woman as being "Thor", Thor is himself as named by Odin and he becomes God of Thunder again in the future after THOR #706 [Comic]. Jane Foster becomes the "Caretaker" God Of Thunder and worthy of Mjölnir until The Mighty Thor #705 and #706 where she succumbs to Breast cancer. But Odin clearly made Jane Foster immortal to become God of Thunder for a while so she comes back from Valhalla, the mantle of THOR, passes back to Thor Odinson [Who has lost an arm in Thor #2 when Malekith cut it off using Jarnbjorn]. Prior to Jane Foster, in the early 2000's, Marvel made a story arc "Thor Girl" otherwise known as Tarene Olson. More information on this can be read HERE mate. As for Captain America, the mantle of the Captain actually passed to Sam Wilson known as Falcon in the original comic arcs. Steve Rogers lost the Super Soldier Serum, reverting him to his natural age. Steve eventually recovers but becomes Evil for a while. Long story short, that too does not last and eventually Falcon hands back the mantle of Captain America to Steve.

jlb Posted September 9, 2018 Posted September 9, 2018 I think Venom looks like a winner. I like most of the Marvel movies. Not a fan of the DC movies. Except the latest Batman trilogy. In a weird way tho, I am ready for the Avengers to end, or at least move on to the newer characters. That way RDJr can get back to making the Sherlock Holmes movies. Man, I love those. 1
oliverdst Posted September 9, 2018 Posted September 9, 2018 I am 100% illiterate about this super heros thing but today I tried to change that and went to the movies with my son. ? 1

Don't worry, Ken. It can get confusing. Just understand that the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and Marvel Comics Universe (MU) are two separate things. Whilst the MCU borrows stories and ideas from the MU, it does not necessarily follow it to the letter. And even in the MU, there are multiple universes to explain all the different stories and comic versions, over the last 80 years. And I have to agree re Deadpool. That is one of the best, if not the best so far, of the Marvel movies.
