Popular Post El Presidente Posted April 25, 2018 Popular Post Posted April 25, 2018 One of the best Indian meals I have eaten. Fantastic banter. Jimmy Ng was then the consummate host. What a gracious and inspirational human being he is. Magnums. The Chambertin was 2004 from memory. Finished with some nice rum. 14 2

Ken Gargett Posted April 25, 2018 Posted April 25, 2018 with luck, i am at valdespino in sept. last time, they were incredibly kind and we tried all sorts of sherries that had been sitting in barrel for a century or more. this time, i might have an alternative suggestion. 1

Philski Posted April 25, 2018 Posted April 25, 2018 No, definitely a Gevry-Chambertin. More than that I can't remember - it was during a dinner at The Square in Bruton St, >15 years ago. Edit: Gevrey-Chambertin
BrightonCorgi Posted April 25, 2018 Posted April 25, 2018 Those wines must've cost a banker's mint at Jimmy's. He has a great wine & whiskey selection.
demisecphuket Posted April 25, 2018 Posted April 25, 2018 After two nights on the trot it is time for a break. A quiet port and then sleep

Edit: Gevrey-Chambertin I see one on sale at K&L http://www.klwines.com/p/i?i=1045190 The following is quote from their site about this region: Gevrey Chambertin - For many wine aficionados, Gevrey Chambertin is the northernmost end of the true Côte d'Or. The largest of all of the communes, it has 9 Grands Crus (Chambertin, Chambertin Clos de Bèze, Chapelle Chambertin, Charmes Chambertin, Griotte Chambertin, Latricieres Chambertin, Mazy Chambertin, Mazoyeres Chambertin and Ruchottes Chambertin). The best Premier Cru wines come form the vineyards nestled along a hill to the west of the village. The Grands Crus are planted in compacted limestone, while the soils in the rest of the village vary as to their clay content. If we are to characterize broadly, the wines are powerful, muscular and need time in the bottle to develop.

No, I wasn't sure but just figured that's what it was by the shape of the bottles and the glasses, lol. Are you not supposed to smoke cigars with it? I mean... I probably wouldn't if I ever had any because it's so damned expensive
